Looks great. Even if it was the first game with new maps and missions, I'd get it.

I liked the first one a bit, but I can't tell what this one's going to be like. The opening moments were tense, but then one realizes that the main character is a Big Daddy and all fears go away. THEN, it turns into standard dumb action game. I just have low expectations for a sequel to game made by not all of the same people.

To be honest, I probably won't pick this one up - The problem I had with the original Bioshock, despite it's coolness, was that it kept the same tone and atmosphere for FAR too long. The whole game, in fact. At first I was enthralled but after a while I was disappointed not to see much contrast in environment or atmosphere, and by the end of it I was pretty much sick of it and just wanted to get it over with.

More of the same is the exact opposite to what I had hoped to see from the sequel.

c'mon 2K, they can do much better than this seriously. Bioshock was one of the best game's I've ever played, certainly something of similar quality can come for a sequel

I hope they improve the AI. The first game had horrible AI for the splicers, and the Big Daddies weren't too smart (although they made up for it by being tough). If you're packing plasmids and a gun simultaneously, the game will be a cakewalk unless they swarm you with enemies or improve the AI.

Not too impressed so far, although the flooding part was kind of cool.

I'm still not sure that I want to play MORE bioshock. I wouldn't mind another game that was to bioshock what bioshock was to system shock, but another trip to rapture? I'm not sure.

My girlfriend plays games but spends zero time watching X-Play or reading blogs so she's pretty much "hype free". She played the first Bioshock and loved it. When I showed this to her, she said, "looks awesome let's get it."

So it passes the girlfriend test which is usually a good sign.

Yeah, this looks more like Bioshock 1.5. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful game, but it's going to have to have a really good story to get me to buy it.

Yeah.... I guess I need to find the first one and play it after all.

Hopefully they optimize the PS3 version instead of simply porting it like they did for Bioshock. While the game was pretty damn close to the Xbox 360 version, there were still the small, occasional differences that needed to be fixed.

My thoughts on it, I thought the opening half of this trailer was awesome, getting trapped underwater from chasing the big sis. I can't wait for that. Then I saw plasmids and guns and drills at the same time and lost almost all hope for the game. Yes please make it even easier 2K, I mean it's not like there's instant respawn chambers behind me to keep tossing me into the fight with no penalty. Seriously, what the shit.

I heard the ps3 version you could turn the vita chambers off in the original. Did that ever get to the 360? I like my games actually having a learning curve.

He may be moving a little bit slow but at least it isn't at the super slow pace that they gingerly walk around with in the first game.

I think that this looks like it has a lot of potential and the only thing that needs to be fixed is the dead body twitching... Even though, that's pretty funny... I hope that the story is varied and interesting like the first one. It was amazing to go from a medical pavillion, to a garden and then to the world of a crazed theater director. It was just an amazing journey.

I think this game is going to be as good as the first, I'm playing it once more to refreash myself on the story, and i really can't see 2k Marin messing it up. The idea of big sisters is very interesting. The one thing i really can't understand is how so many people leaving comments can place so much judgement based on a couple minute trailer. If you didn't enjoy the first game then more than likely you wouldn't like this one either. I love bioshock and i'm sure i will love this game too.

I have a feeling this story is going to be about a rogue woman (maybe the shock ending will be that it is Tenenbaum, dun dun dunnn) who is kidnapping little girls from the seashore and bringing them into the city of Rapture in an attempt to keep Rapture going. The other twist ending part is that all of the big sisters are actually little sisters who couldn't resist returning home and helping their nursery mom, i.e. Tenenbaum. Her motives for driving you on are that she can no longer control the big sisters and something about greed, blah blah blah.

What's my prize?

Anyhow, looks fun. I loved Bioshock, still love that game. I might not buy this sequel on day one, but maybe a month after release if the price drops to a cool 40.

It is a sequel. After Jack leaves Rapture(no matter what ending good or bad) little sisters still made it out of Rapture(hell knows how) so when the little sisters sisters left, so did the adam. So BigDaddies went on lonely patrols like they used to with little sisters, and the desire for adam went away. The splicers didn't need adam anymore. They basically just got over not having it. But because of all the splicing they did, it left them all hideously deformed. So Rapture lived on. Then one of the little sisters you saved(or escaped) from the first game returns to Rapture and becomes the Big Sister, taking girls from the surface, making them into little siters, and reigniting a forgotten lust for adam. Also you are the first bigdaddy ever. The reason is that you were basically a prototype. The first bigdaddy has a good balance between agility and strength. But for for some reason(not sure why, I'll have to check) they basically dumbed down the bigdaddies making them stronger but slower, dumber, and they removed the plasmid system. So basically after they made you they threw you away and made the bigdaddies you see in Bioshock 1.If you have anymore questions i might be able to answer them(by the way I DO have a life, I just really like this game)I got most of my information again from the Bioshock 2 eddition of Gameinformer(sorry for long reply)

While playing as a Big Daddy is a cool idea, I'm still iffy about BS2. You play as a character that makes moral/immoral decisions based upon harvesting or saving little girls as you fight against a tyrannical character within the confines of an aquatic utopia gone wrong... all over again.

It was fun, if not amazing, the first time... but I don't know about doing it all over again, just with different pro- and antagonists.

You can drill in splicers faces, use the ram attack with it like bigdaddies in the first game, and you can even scare away a splicer just by reving the drill. Look for a Bioshock2 Walkthrough video in a google search to see these things and more like walking outside of Rapture in the water and plasmids like incinerate where when you upgrade plasmids it doesn't just increase the damage done. Like for example with Incinerate2 you can charge up a big fireball and with Incinerate3 you basically use your hand as a flamethrower.

I love how people are making their final judgments on this game after the first minute of gameplay is released. Bunch of idiots.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, all these 'we don't need a sequel' arguments remind me a lot of the runup to System Shock 2. And SS2 was way better than the first. Do you guys really have that little faith in the man who brought us Bioshock?

Actually, no. I think most of us have less faith in the completely different team making the game (2K Marin, based pretty close to me, actually) - considering the fact that Ken Levine has next to nothing to do with the sequel.

What I'd like to see is perhaps like flashbacks of Rapture in the glory days, so for example you walk around Rapture as a Big Daddy and you come across perhaps a school, then suddenly colour floods onto the screen (the trailer shows a dark and dingy setting similar to Bioshock 1) and all the buildings sort reverse back into there proper shapes, you still control the person on screen and you walk past people and they wave hello etc. etc. and you see a group of little children walking out from the schools to be greeted by there parents, then the screen reverts to it's dark setting and you are next to a school and you see a child (little sister) who looks like one you just saw in the flashback, though only this time she is being marauded by a group of splicers who are weilding weapons, so you are faced with a choice keep walking, or risk yourself to save the child. It would certainly add more depth to the game rather than the normal harvest/save dillema. If flashbacks like that occured throughout the game then it would add immense depth to the story and characters, perhaps one of witnessing the Big Sister kidnapping a child, and trying to pursue her, or when you are about to encounter someone like Sander Cohen you could have a flashback of watching one of his plays, or works of art (cant remember what he did).

It's just an idea which could greatly increase the games depth.

I won't say I was floored, but I won't say I'm not looking forward to it either, looks pretty cool at first glance and the premise isn't bad either...but I have one for everyone...just for thought, (and this is without knowing the plot/ending of the sequel)...but what if we got the role of a splicer? Say 3rd game, we get to choose (male/female/somewhat) our starting look (pre-plasmid) and our story began after the death of Ryan/Fon (during the ADAM drought) and we played during this one (try as we might, there's always that splicer that bails) and continued after a bit? There's a story...we could even get into a bit of friendly NPC interaction and whatnot (and the survival aspect of being a splicer and having to harvest ADAM) and really get into some depth into Rapture and its history...

To me this game is awesome. Great graphics, everything. But do you have to use plasmids and weapons at the same time, or is it optional? I'd like to know. Also to Vcize little sisters do still go around with Big Daddies in Rapture, but to get a Little Sister, you have to take one from another Big Daddy, and basically, the more BigDaddies you kill and the more chaos you cause Big Sister becomes more aware of your actions, and eventually she'll come and hunt you down. That's why you hear the Little Sister say," Mr. Bubbles, Big Sister doen't want you playing with me anymore." The good thing is though, there will be some kind of timer before her arrival, so you have time to prepare. But don't try to hide. This one enemy you can't avoid if she's comming for you. I read this from the Bioshock 2 edition of GameInformer.

For the few people who don't think that Bioshock 2 isn't a sequel, your wrong. It takes 10 years after the first bioshock and you play as the first bigdaddy ever, thats why you walk a bit faster and can use plasmids. The reason that there aren't other bigdaddies like you is because they basically dumbed down the big daddies making them stronger but slower and dumber. Can't remember the real reason they dumbed them down though.
