I'm guessing Shacklers Revenge was one of the better tracks.. so I'm not buying, when that first came up I was like 'wtf'.. Velvet Revolver is way better.. personally I'd like fast heavy stuff on RB2, but alternate strumming just won't work for me (it's between lag settings & my RB1 wireless that's the problem - since RB2's aren't in europe yet..)

I bought one and I'd like to see you try. It is actually a kick ass album but you'd have to play a real guitar to understand that I guess, not some plastic POS one.

Oh whatever, sure it's a different Guns 'N Roses than back with Use Your Illusion and Appetite for Destruction, but it still kicks ass. Also, Buckethead > Slash.

Seriously, The only way this could be deemed a smart move is if the studios made them do it if they wanted Appetite on down the road.

Axl mentioned something about if this one sells well, he'd be interested in releasing Appetite. Come on RB fans, if you don't get the album at least grab a couple tracks off of it. It could help with future DLC.

I sure hope Appetite comes out one day. This album is NOT GnR, only Axl's crap. Guitar Metallica is great, but having drum fills at the start of turn the page is lame.

I'll be buying a good half of this. You can crap on GnR all day long, but getting to tear up some Buckethead and Robin Finck guitar parts is nothing short of "fun as hell".

I am still dreaming of the day they release full versions of Blood Mountain and Crack the Skye by Mastodon!!!

Just because the guitar parts are extremely technical, doesn't neccesarily mean they are fun. IMO Both Buckethead and Robin Finck are sh*t guitarists.

Just because you play your instrument very well, doesn't mean you're a good musician.

The whole Chinese Democracy album is so overproduced and riddled with complicated guitar solos from top to bottom, it's lost any structure whatsoever.

.. and that's all besides the fact it sounds like Limp Bizkit meets Rob Zombie.

awwww, come one. It isn't that bad. I'm not a huge fan of the guitarists work outside of this release, but I like the variation in parts across this album. I agree with it being overproduced and I can see the similarities between this and a lot of late 90's stuff.

Overall, I think it's a pretty ambitious release, and with all the homogeneous rock garbage that gets regular play these days, I'm happy when anything that borders on eclectic finds a mainstream audience.

Now... who wants to help me start a petition to get Mr Bungle's California released on RockBand :)

@ Mystile Armor - How much of Buckethead's own original music have you heard? You certainly can't judge him based off what he's done with GnFR, and he certainly isn't a sh*t guitarist as you put it.

"Just because you play your instrument very well, doesn't mean you're a good musician." Mmmmmmkay.

A good musician isn't about just knowing how to play your instruments, it's about melody, songwriting, chord progression etc. etc.

Just because he knows how to play a complicated solo on a frettless guitar, doesn't make him a good musician.

And I THINK he's utter crap. If you don't think so, that's great, that's your oppinion, not mine.

I agree that you can play well and be a terrible musician. I could write prose eloquently with excellent pacing and brilliant imagery and write a horrible story. But, from what I've heard from Chinese Democracy...it's crap. It's like someone took a crap and left it around for 10 years while others came around and crapped on that crap. Then, you take that original crap and nicely package it as to not really look like crap. Then, talk about how much unlike crap it really is and serve it to us, the unwitting public, who for the most part, forgot about caring about the crap in the first place. In short: it stinks.

I agree, Markez, Bucketheads other work isn't half as bad as the stuff he's done for GnR (and he shouldn't be measured by that), but it's still far from great...

But that's my opinion. I could name alot of music that I enjoy that other people think is horrible, I suppose.

I'm not going to get back in the argument we had about that DJ game (forgot the name of it), because taste in music is as subjective as it will ever be.

Couldn't agree with you more. So many people wanted to hate this album that when it came out, their self-fulfilling prophecy had them hating it right from the get-go. I bought it with an open mind, and while it's a different style than their old stuff (which is to be expected after a decade or two), I've quite enjoyed it.I'll be picking up these tracks even if it is cool to hate the album.

Seriously?

Its easy to hate on, and its definitely not an amazing album, but I like it enough to purchase a couple tracks for Rock Band from it.

I'd rather have classic GNR as much as the next guy, but everyone needs to stop BAWWing because their favorite music isn't coming this week.

This is a very inconsistent album. I've listened to every single track on it, and some songs start out good, and end bad. Some start out bad and end up good. But a few start out bad, and keeps it up throughout the song. But overall, I would say its a decent album, but it takes a few listens to appreciate it. That's not to say, I love it, but most people here seems to hate it. But yeah there are some songs that are just plain awful, Shackler's Revenge comes to mind...
