Concept art for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has surfaced online and it's looking absolutely gorgeous. The images show some very ambitious action sequences and intense environments (such as a gun battle on a moving train, and deadly drop zones like the gutted train car hanging over a cliff pictured above).
Of course, concept art can only show the intent of designers and not the final content found in the game. Though, those lucky enough to have seen the leaked GDC gameplay footage might attest that the transition from concept to game is working out just fine. IGN has a few more concept paintings to check out, including an area that looks like it could be Shangri-La.

This is a must buy for me. Did the 1st drop in price yet?

No and I doubt it ever will until Uncharted 2 drops. Strange that it's still expensive after all this time.

gun fights on a train must be the new thing to do.

What are you talking about? The train is dangling from a cliff. So instead of the train being horizontal it's now vertical. That's pretty cool how the seats in the train have become platforming elements.

I believe that what is pictured is the same bus from the teaser trailer, and not a gutted elevator shaft.

Wow.
This doesn't have anything to do with the game,
but I really admire people who can draw photo realistic pictures like this...
My jaw drops everytime I see these kind of pictures...

Unless of course, you know and when you meant "this has nothing to do with the game", you were talking about your comments on how awesome they are at drawing.
If this is the case, I agree!

These concept arts aren't new, they've been out for like... a couple months.
But it's good the PS3fanboy finally put them up ;)
Lol.

These concept arts aren't new, though. They've all been out for at least a month or two. It's good that some of the ones from the new batch were finally posted here, though ;)

Who ever drew those deserves some recognition ...really It's embarrassing that all I could draw is stick figures and I don't even do that right.

I loved the first Uncharted. I still remember how the Nathan (the guy you play as and the main character) would channel your thoughts. For example, there was a part where you just fight a large wave of enemies. Just when you thought it's over another wave starts. I was like, "You gotta be kidding me! They're back again?!" and I hear Nathan thinking out loud the same thing. It was both awesome and creepy at the same time. It's one the reasons why I actually genuinely cared about his character, more than I have for a movie character before. Naughty Dog is very talented. If you guys are reading these comments (of course they are! This is joystiq biatch!) then please make a sequel for Jack and Dexter on PS3.

The person that made this deserves some recognition...really all I can draw is stick figures and they usually don't come out very good.

I really hope Naughty Dog uses that Shangri-La scenery, it looks absolutely gorgeous.
