WRUP: Joystiqyria Chronicles
Although there's
plenty of blame to go around about
Valkyria Chronicles' initially
abysmal US sales, let's try to move past that. What PS3 owners should know by now is that the game -- although not for everyone -- is an innovative and welcome strategy JRPG experience (
we're not alone in this thought). With
some DLC on the way, all we can do is hope sales pick up to the point where there's a chance we'll see more of Squad 7 in a sequel. Let's see what everyone is playing ...
- Alexander Sliwinski (@XanderSliwinski): Um, Valkyria Chronicles. That is all. Squad 7, move out!
- Andrew Yoon: Sony just sent me some inFamous code, so will be playing that. Then, Cross Edge and more RE5 Versus.
- Ben Gilbert (@BigBossBgilbert): Thinking about surprising Yoon in NYC and playing whatever he has of inFamous -- that game looks amazing! Otherwise it's iPhone all the way as I've just discovered that this thing apparently has something called an "App Store" where there are games! Wow! Oregon Trail, here I come!
- Christopher Grant (@ChrisGrant): Spending the weekend knee-deep in dee eye why (oh why?), so I'll bring my trusty iPhone and the latest app to occupy my free time: Mafia Wars. Add if you wanna join my crew, add #5601 9439 37. Capiche?
- David Hinkle (@davehinkle): I've got Riddick: Dark Athena to play, so I want to dive into that now that I've finished my Godfather II review. There's also 50 Cent: BOTS, which I've been about halfway through for like a month now. Oh, and some guy from the government keeps calling my house, demanding money. So I should see what that's all about.
- Dustin Burg (@SuperDunner): No games, just trying to heal from the emotional pain Bungie recently put me through.
- Griffin McElroy (@griffinmcelroy): I am definitely playing World of Warcraft again. Sorry, potential girlfriend, whom I will never have the time to meet.
- James Ransom-Wiley: Giving Fable 2 another try -- anyone wanna break me off a piece of their fortune?
- Jason Dobson (@eToyChest): In the spirit of Easter, I plan on devoting my weekend gaming to sacrifice, which means that the evening hours will be spent playing the absolute worst my collection has to offer. I'll see your loving faces Monday, assuming I survive.
- Jem Alexander (@Yembles): My PSP ran out of battery and I'm too lazy to charge it right now, so I'll be sticking with my iPhone. iDracula, Zen Bound and Eliss to be precise. I also took advantage of the MacHeist 3 bundle, so I'm going to see what all the fuss surrounding World of Goo is about.
- JC Fletcher (@jcfletcher): Wii Music. ... That's right, I said it.
- Justin McElroy (@JustinMcElroy): After a confusing, sad week trying to wrangle meaning from Lux-Pain, I've returned the the tweed-covered arms of Henry Hatsworth..
- Kevin Kelly (@gadgetguy): I'm jumping into Guitar Hero: Metallica for the first time this weekend, and I'm determined to master the double bass pedal or die trying. I've been looking for something fun to get back into as well, and I'm not sure if it's gonna be Fable II, Fallout 3, or GTAIV: Lost and Damned. Although with all this Bioshock 2 talk, I'm itching to play the original again. Damn you!
- Ludwig Kietzmann (@LudwigK): I'll try my best to wiggle out of Resident Evil 5's iron grip and defeat the evil George Takei in Red Alert 3. And when not commanding an army of attack bears, I'll probably be kicking exploding motorcycles at hideous mutants in Ninja Blade.
- Majed Athab: I'll be heading back to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I just realized I haven't done the Shivering Isles quest yet, so I'm going to do that.
- Randy Nelson (@DangerPenguin): Based on my experience thus far, I'm estimating it will take most of the weekend to find a spot in my house where I can actually play WarioWare Snapped! I anticipate needing several frustration breaks, and it's during those I'll be introducing my girlfriend to the sheer undead wonderment of Left 4 Dead.
- Richard Mitchell (@SenseiRAM): Starting RE5 on Professional as I continue my quest to become the Master of Unlocking (weapon upgrades). Also going through The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai on Samurai difficulty. Might find some time for House of the Dead: Overkill.
- Xav de Matos (@Xav): Here's my WRUP and one-word review wrap up: 50 Cent, POINTS! Rock Band 2, Berserker! Army of Two, stinks. Peggle (XBLA), extreme!!!! Mass Effect, loading...
- Justin Glow (@justinglow): (So close to making Joystiq self-aware.)
