Well, that was just the most ridiculous headline we've ever typed. Brace your brains for a craziness infusion, folks -- television personality Judge Greg Mathis, of Judge Mathis fame, is planning his gaming development debut. According to a recent Yahoo! Games article, the good judge will be teaming up with 187 Ride or Die contributor Matty Rich to create a third-person action game for the 360, PS3 and PC titled -- wait for it -- keep waiting (seriously, it's worth it) -- Mathis "Detroit" Street Judge.
In the game, you play La-Ron Washington, a recently released inmate who's trying to help out his community to turn his life around. However, with Detroit's toughest gangs chasing him down for a murder he didn't commit, he'll have to play it smart to avoid the game's penal consequences, which Judge Mathis took care to delicately explain.
"When you go to prison you can also be raped," Mathis said. "We may see young people who make the wrong choice and go to prison and are assaulted repeatedly." So, yeah. There that is.

It might be awesome just because of what Judge Mathis will do to make sure when people play this they think "Holy shit I don't wanna go to prison, do drugs, kill people, or drop the soap."

I want a Judge Judy game with all buttons mapped to blatant accusations and bitching. Then, for the finale, the defense pulls a gun and puts a bullet between her eyes, thus ending her rein.
She has ruined this country.

Judge Judy Ninja Assassin would have been a cool choice too, but this wins because you can get raped in prison.

Good show, Joystiq! You think you're clever, with your 10 day late April Fools shenanigans, but we're on to you. Surely nobody in their right mind would publish this game.
Right? Right?! Please tell me I'm right!

The Yahoo! article was posted April 2. The Yahoo! article is the only source for this - there's been no press releases, nothing from Warner Bros. Interactive, who supposedly has "first-look" publishing rights for a game with no apparent developer or schedule.
Matty Rich Games doesn't have a website and isn't recruiting. Other than this Yahoo article, nothing links Rich with supposed co-executive producer Gus Blackmon.
On the other hand, Mathis is a little cooky about himself and media. He wrote himself into a novel, Street Judge, where he has to resist the temptations of a sex-crazed assistant D.A. while solving a decapitation murder. This idea is slightly less outlandish.

I was doubtful about getting this game at first...
But you can be raped in jail? I'm DEFINETLY GOING TO PICK THIS ONE UP!
When's the release date?
(It'd be hilarious if this game actually introduces a lot of cool new gamplay features and is better than GTA lmao)

And there goes the neighborhood. When games like this are actually being developed and released, something is seriously wrong.

I think it's Ironic that some of the most ridiculous news stories in the last 10 days (that were all true) have been more bizarre and more entertaining then anything that came out on April Fool's Day of this year.
Seriously guys, next year, take some of these true stories as examples for shocking and crazy headlines for next April Fool's Day please.

I'm honestly just tired of reading those comments, they get a bit old. I was curious if I'm the only one who felt like that. That's just me though.
I just felt the urge to point it out.

I completely agree. The only people who use "Epic Fail," "Do [Not] Want," etc. are those who can't think of original ideas anymore. The whole concept of "memes" has just generally become very old now.

Hahaha, well, that was unexpected!
I actually kind of like the idea of this game, though. After reading the Yahoo article, I was pretty impressed by what Mathis said. Basically, he said that it was okay for teenagers to be facinated by thug culture and play violent games so long as they don't actually go out murdering people, stealing cars and commiting other crimes. Rather than bash games like GTA, he designs one fully understanding the differences between games and reality.
Is the game going to be any good? Probably not. But this kind of mindset is certainly not what I expected, and I'm impressed.

I hate to tell you this but Paris Hilton did have a game a few years ago. It was a mobile game and at the Press Conference announcing the game - she got the title wrong.
