Let's Destroy the Shagohod, Part 4.
Hands Down.
Jacksons @ Apr 11th 2009 10:52PM
How did you even finish it already? It's like a bazillion pages long...
Alexisonfire @ Apr 11th 2009 10:54PM
I read it the day it came out.
It was amazing.
Jacksons @ Apr 11th 2009 10:56PM
Ah, fair enough.
Roto13 @ Apr 11th 2009 10:59PM
Let's Destroy the Shagohod wins. I hope she does number 4.
Roto13 @ Apr 11th 2009 10:59PM
... This wasn't meant to be a reply, but whatever. :P
auroragb @ Apr 12th 2009 12:26AM
i guess it's a MGS reference? Do I have to read pts 1-3? It just seems so boring!
At least the real MGS had voice acting and great graphics... This just seems like a wall of scribbles...
Nytemare @ Apr 12th 2009 12:33AM
Yes, it was insanely funny, like always.
She's a mastermind.
I hope she does MGS4!
Phil @ Apr 12th 2009 12:52AM
TLDNR
Crusty Magic @ Apr 12th 2009 1:48AM
Totally.
Those comics are amazing.
"I know my crotches."
bongoes @ Apr 12th 2009 1:34PM
Ugh I don't have time to read it
Manly Mcbeefigan (Mr. ESC) @ Apr 12th 2009 5:54PM
MGS3 FTW,too bad I can't play it on my HDTV it looks all fuzzy.
Dr Scientist @ Apr 11th 2009 10:49PM
How did they both run over Zelda without crashing? o.O
PSN: Erdie (Now equipped with Wii!) @ Apr 11th 2009 10:56PM
Yeah, I didn't really understand that either.
sonicspike41 @ Apr 11th 2009 11:07PM
I was wondering the same thing. I finally decided, she must be spread over two tracks, and the two trains were never on the same set of tracks to begin with.
One hit's her legs, the other her neck.
Markez @ Apr 11th 2009 11:09PM
Except that in the 1st panel she's only on 1 :P It was so-so, I don't know if I seen the GGuys on here before? Like the art style.
MarkShark @ Apr 11th 2009 11:50PM
Who cares, Ganondorf with a monocle!
mr mobius @ Apr 12th 2009 12:28AM
If they'd had Ganondorf on the left of the image hurtling towards Zelda, while Link was also on the left, having just ran over Zelda, hurtling towards Ganondorf to stop him getting to her, then that'd been funnier.
eldee @ Apr 12th 2009 6:35AM
i agree, it started out a strong entry- but the end killed it for me.. were there two princesses? What was with the FFFFF at the end?
I don't get it, but I dig the style and sense of dynamics. maybe next week will succeed where this one failed
T @ Apr 12th 2009 11:37AM
The "FFFF" was Link letting out the world's longest f-bomb.
Reader @ Apr 12th 2009 1:35PM
I don't get the comic at all... It looks like they may both be coming from the same direction if you look at Zelda's feet, but then the foreground is the same in both panels. Also the grammar mistake in the sixth panels put me off.
MowDownJoe @ Apr 11th 2009 10:50PM
Ehh... GG-Guys was funny, as was Digital Unrest... I flipped a coin between the two, and ended up with Digital Unrest.
DeoWulf @ Apr 11th 2009 10:58PM
I went with Spirit Tracks simply because that's exactly the style of presentation I had in mind when I heard the new LoZ featured a train. Usually I would go with Let's Destroy the Shagohod, but I've voted for those every other time and I should mix it up.
Spartan @ Apr 12th 2009 11:08AM
I may or may not agree with the above statement and or opinion.
Jawmuncher @ Apr 11th 2009 10:58PM
I loved the advanced wars one
Markez @ Apr 11th 2009 11:08PM
I chose MNC this week, gotta chuckle out of it, especially on the heels on the DSi commercials with the two BROS sitting on the couches. Liked DU a lot as well, just becasue it reminded me of Sonic and the little sound effect on the Genesis for when he'd gulp in a bubble.
I'd managed to get that garbage Last Resort song outta my head, thanks a lot to that comic that ripped off the lyrics in it's uncreative punchline.
Ezio Auditore de Firenze (PSN slycooper_rocker) @ Apr 11th 2009 11:20PM
i would have voted for the MNC because of my epic rick rolling spree but then that spirit tracks comic wowed me too much.
Mr Khan @ Apr 11th 2009 11:13PM
A very strong week. I might be in the right mood to read webcomics (having just finished a big English essay and infused with sugar from Reese's Eggs and Jelly Bellies), but everything was good. Ultimately the new guys (GG-Guys), were the best of the lot. Hiimdaisy had superior humor, but was a bit of a chore to read in the end
MechaGamerX @ Apr 11th 2009 11:17PM
CUT MY LIFE INTO PEICES!!
THIS IS MY LAST RESOOORT!!
WINterfang @ Apr 12th 2009 10:55AM
SUFFOCATION !!!
NO BREATHING!!!
Manly Mcbeefigan (Mr. ESC) @ Apr 12th 2009 5:58PM
DONT GIVE A F**K IF I CUT MY ARM BLEEDING.
Ezio Auditore de Firenze (PSN slycooper_rocker) @ Apr 11th 2009 11:21PM
was it me, or was let's destroy the shagohod even LONGER this time?
Ezio Auditore de Firenze (PSN slycooper_rocker) @ Apr 11th 2009 11:34PM
and is sidescroller ever funny?
Markez @ Apr 12th 2009 12:32AM
Eh, cruising through the older ones, I have to say it really hasn't been to my taste.
http://www.robotmartini.com/community/viewpost/939
Read the drab description beneath the panes :P
Ezio Auditore de Firenze (PSN slycooper_rocker) @ Apr 12th 2009 1:12AM
haha it's funny because it's so lame
cknblade @ Apr 11th 2009 11:29PM
(Alternate, alternate joke for fellow jewish readers: Boy, there certainly are matzah good comics this week!)
Ezio Auditore de Firenze (PSN slycooper_rocker) @ Apr 11th 2009 11:44PM
haha that's a good one
mr mobius @ Apr 12th 2009 12:35AM
A few Christian medical students and I took part in an alternative Passover and can I just say in passing - you have a really interesting celebration, although the amount of stuff dipped in salt water is not overly pleasant.
Gavin @ Apr 11th 2009 11:43PM
Hard not to love Hyper Combo Finish. Not even the dead hooker strip from wednesday can stand up to it ;-)
Otis Whitaker @ Apr 11th 2009 11:43PM
As always, Let's Destroy the Shagohod.
The Dipswitch one kind of annoys me. I'm tired of people saying things like that. It's like a damned rental service. Oh noes, I guess Netflix's instantly service ensures you'll never own a movie again D:
Mr Khan @ Apr 12th 2009 12:25AM
Movies and games are of a different breed after all. Rentals are fine in the short-run for games, but to have that be the only alternative? Not a pleasant scenario
alienmastermind @ Apr 12th 2009 9:30AM
You know, you deserve to have the goal met by the OnLive people, then.
Their goal, in their words, is to replace the console with a feeder system for video game entertainment...to cut the legs out from under the likes of GameStop and EB, to remove the brick and mortar stores, and indeed ownership of the games you bought, traded, or did whatever you want with.
There are lots of boxless systems of distribution, and believe me, I prefer Steam's way of giving you the game to run on your machine. Because you 'own' the game. And you own the machine.
You're not paying a monthly fee to own the machine and the game (or the exorbitant rates the cable company is going to bleed you out of for bandwidth usage) now. But OnLive hopes you will be stupid enough to do so in the future.
If OnLive becomes the only platform, I'll find something else to spend my video game budget on. Then, Dipswitch will be about...uh...kittens or something.
Thanks to all who voted!

movies and games are different. i don't know many people who go buy movies just to watch them for a few weeks then sell the movies to buy the newest highest reviewed/most popular movies. i have seen people saying "i don't need high def. wait hd dvd is great. wait i'm good with regular dvd. wait netflix is all i really need, i don't need physical media to own.
Otis @ Apr 12th 2009 11:29AM
I don't WANT their goal met. God. I just think there's nothing wrong with a digital rental service. I really WISH there was a digital rental service. I don't want it to be the ONLY system, but to have it as an option is absolutely awesome, and it'd save money if it were reasonable :x
alienmastermind @ Apr 12th 2009 3:05PM
Hey, man. The entire enterprise of OnLive is designed to be a replacement for the current paradigm of ownership, not a rental service. I'd rather own than rent. And my collection of systems, games, et al points to this. I mean, I have no need to own a Bally Home Arcade..I just have one since one was in my home when I was a little boy.
I hope OnLive is a good way to rent, heck, it might be a great way to get casual gamers into the hobby. But if their goal as stated is met, then we'll just pay and pay with nothing to show for it...and that just seems odd to me.
My point, I suppose is that I do think about these things when I write and draw the comics. I don't just think 'You know, I like drawing the Devil with a 'World's Greatest Grandpa' t-shirt, let me go ahead and bitch about OnLive'. It's usually the bitching first, and then using the devil as the scapegoat for such a netherworldly plan. :)
Thanks for reading, anyways.

None of the above. I vote "The Order of the Stick" - "An Unsung Legend":

MNC Dover @ Apr 12th 2009 12:01AM
Cool, made the poll this week and we aren't doing half bad either. Thanks to everyone who voted for us.
PyrosNine @ Apr 12th 2009 12:04AM
Hiimdaisy wins forever, and should someone else win more than Hiimdaisy, I will sneak into their house and snap their neck to maintain the status quo.
Uncontrol @ Apr 12th 2009 12:35AM
that's a lot of unfunny comics in a list
mr mobius @ Apr 12th 2009 12:36AM
Strong week. Explains the evenness of the voting (more or less).
