I've actually been using this mod for quite some time now. I had given up on Fallout3 after my first day owning it because I couldn't enjoy it. Playing it left me feeling depressed and that joy of exploring the world I had with Oblivion wasn't there. Coupled with a blue sky mod my enjoyment of the game went through the roof.

If i ever used that mod I think it would only be in accompaniment with broken steel or whatever, so that I would feel like I really saved the world with all the water and trees and all that jazz.

What the fuck?! That is by far one of the worst mods I've ever seen... It's like giving coke to a crack head, they don't need it! Or-or it's like putting hair on a naked mole rat, it won't be a naked mole rat, it won't be a naked mole rat at all!

The point of fallout is show the bleakness and the desolate wasteland of a nuclear apocalypse and if you spruce it up with wiith fuckin' vegetation it's like saying the nuclear apocolypse was caused by pixie dust, fairies and broccoli bombs! It's like nothing happened!

The Oasis has enough vegetation for Fallout.

You disgust me, whoever made this mod... You ruined the game.

Maybe the pixie dust, fairies and broccoli bombs are making him install this mod?

Oh and:

"It's like giving coke to a crack head, they don't need it!"

They might not need it, but Crackheads WANT the coke.
Out of all people you should know!

(yes yes, I'm a douchebag, we established that on that Fallujah topic)

No, no... golly... It's the fact that someone made this mod is what disgusts me. It's like a sin, you don't have to do it, but just thinking about it makes you a sinner (of said sin).

Giving coke to a crackhead makes perfect sense. I imagine they're mighty thirsty from all that shaking and vomiting.

While it's nice and all I don't think pretty green trees and shrubbery would be thriving after a nuke bomb. Just doesn't seem realistic and yes does ruin the depressing atmosphere that allows me to enjoy the game. That doesn't mean others won't like it!

The game does take place 200 years after the nuclear war, let there be some vegetation. I'm surprised how backwards the Capital Wasteland is compared to to South and North California in Fallout 1 and 2 respectively and they take place decades before Fallout 3. Fallout 3 looks as if though it takes place just a year after the nuclear war.

I wonder if Bethesda will explore California in future DLC or Fallout 4??

I would like to take a gander at Europe, particularly England, since I seem to remember some mention of England maintaining stability

My god, those nutjobs in Oasis succeeded, and here I was laughing at them for thinking they could magically make the world as plant-alicious as their little slice of hippy heaven...

well cal me a mudcrab and poke my one eye...

i've always wanted to install this mod but i'm waiting until after the broken steel DLC. Figure it makes more sense for normal trees once the water is purified.

Now there's a mod I'd like to bring over to the 360. Maybe then I'd actually play it. Right now its too drab. Sigh...and I bought the package with lunchbox and everything.

Well...time to pack my lunch and get ready for another day.

I guess it looks cool. The technical stuff behind creating this mod is niffty, I guess. I play F3 on the ps3 and 360 so I couldnt use this mod anyhow. Even if I could I wouldnt, It would ruin the fallout vibe for me.

Well that is a bit more accurate of how the world might look. It's been less than 30 years since Chernobyl, and vegetation is growing in the area.
http://www.kiddofspeed.com/chernobyl-land-of-the-wolves/
It's still not safe for humans, but *something* can grow there. In Fallout 3, it's been 200 years... There should at least be some ivy or something.

(But I do have to give to Bethesda, they did a good job keeping the environment from looking too stale. Unlike, say Hellgate...)

One difference...Chernobyl is real, it wasnt so bad as to cause "super mutants" and "ghouls" and people arent running around there launching mini nukes. Its not like I can run out to the next town over from mine and play with or attempt to disarm the nuclear bomb they have sitting in the middle of the town. lol, its a freakin game. Just enjoy it for what it is.

It looks pretty good actually, although the pop-in is pretty bad and the trees look a little dodge at a distance. The support page for this has some awesome engrish.
