The song being sung in the picture is The Speed of Sound, by Coldplay.

Just for anyone curious.

Unless harmonix is still co-developing (unlikely considering they're current releationship with EA) I think I'll pass

I wish I could recall the last time Konami made a non-IIDX music game that didn't suck.

Why on earth wouldn't the Wii version get any of the dlc features?! Totally bogus... epic fail.

Umm, because each song is over a hundred megs and the wii relies on crappy SD cards for storage?

John.
a) Wii supports cards up to 32GB now.
b) Rock Band tracks are usually about 20-60MB for the biggest songs. Also, the Wii version supports DLC.

Agreed. That's weak. (OR should that be... no, I'll skip the pun.)

Not having DLC for Wii was okay for last year's music games but now that the precedent has been set with Rock Band? And especially now that it supports ridiculously large SD cards (bigger than the hard discs in many 360s)? I don't think so.

The videos will be downloaded too. That takes more space. Plus the size fo the KR American Idol song files are fricken huge. I don't know how rock band does it smaller

The only way I would get something like this is if I could sing along to some Stephen Lynch songs.

You know, I want to see if they can actually out Singstar singstar. But this is Konami. Any real ideas they'll have to advance the series will be scrapped because really pushing any kind of edges is something nobody outside of Kojima Productions does at Konami anymore.

I really hope Chris Grant makes another video of himself singing a country song.

That would probably the only thing that would get me to buy the game.

Good, master recordings. My wife really enjoyed the first American Idol, but all the covers turned me off to it. The reviews of LIPS didn't really turn me on, so I might get his one. And Konami, I don't NEED another USB microphone. Please release a game only copy!

i'm confused... they did the american idol ones right? i guess the contract ran out? it was a pretty enjoyable game (the first one, haven't played the second one). at parties, we would pass around the mic and do single player mode just to see what simon would say.

the thing is, assuming the latest american idol karaoke revolution game was by konami, the article makes it sound like konami has been disconnected from the series for a long time.

They did not do: Anyone after Country, Karaoke Revolution 1 Xbox, Karaoke Revolution Party Xbox.

I used to own karaokerevolution.net

Well the real issue is whether the American Idol license allowed Konami to sit back and allow the same game to be put out twice and this is just a way to to reinvent (or copy depending your point of view) the series to replicate the Lips online and DLC (which is amazing in comparison to the KR:AI series) or just the grown-up sense of the other karaoke games, Singstar included. Master tracks helps out so at least they are taking it seriously or taking note that cover artists make the series seem amateur in comparison.

On that note, I have faith in Konami. It's not Harmonix but they started it, they can do it again.

And Thomas, KR.Net is now rhythmgamers.net. Stupid server hosts screwed me when they were bought out....
