Same here. I see a lot of potential in that tech for an MMA game down the right.

lets just hope that EA does a good job with the PS3 version, the PS3 port for FN round 3 wasnt very good, especially when it came to the PSN, but it was understandable because it was a launch game and sony gave birth to the PSN at that time. good game to launch the system btw, especially the 360 version. cant wait till FN Round 4.

It's spelled ARREOLA and stop being childish. Dude is a straight up monster. Rumor has it he may be in line for the Heavyweight title this summer at Staples Center. ;)

It'd be awesome to get the coveted HW title around an Americans waist. A Mexican-American to be exact, which is even better and more profitable for the sport as well.

It looks like they finally made the next gen leap with the series. I'm pretty excited about what I have seen but not as impressed as I have been with UFC Undisputed thus far. The big selling point for me will be the fighter roster. I'm don't want to play as any retired legends other than maybe Floyd Mayweather. I want the guys that are in the sport now and are rising stars like Gamboa, Kirkland, Punisher WIlliams, Aereola and Pac Man. If they have a good stable of legendary fighters and current fighters I'll buy it but if not I won't touch it at all.

@Anti - Chris is Mexican-American. Do Mexican surnames bother you? The ARR of Arreola is rolled thus doesn't sound much like the word you are referring to.

Chris Aereola is a complete beast. He is the best American HW prospect that has come along in years. I'm sure he couldn't hang with the Klitschko brothers, Sam Peter or David Haye at this point but he is still a rising star. He can't help the name he was born with and if you wouldn't watch because of his name then you got some kind of issuest. Besides, it's a lot better than his name: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/4136 and his name: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/players/101450 and finally his name:
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/players/100869
But team sports are different ... I don't see anyone wearing any of their jerseys.
As far as boxing in general goes ... It's a great sport if you can get past all the politics and multiple titles that have watered it down over the years. Now, with the rising stars we have from America it could explode again. I'll never stop watching combat sports like boxing, k-1, sambo & mma. It's the closest thing we have to the real gladiators.

Gat dammit, Johnny, you bastard, you warmed me up with the first two, and then BOOM, the third you rip on my hometown hope in JD Booty. Our top two are Jackson and Rosenfels for godssakes, I know JDB needs some polish, but man c'mon he's the one that actually has some promise.
Rosenfels? When people in the media talk about Rosenfels, they say he's a young Gus Frerotte. GAH, that does not inspire confidence. :( Damn you, sir!

I've never bought a boxing game before aside from the NES Punch-Out and don't ever expect to aside from Wii Punch-Out when it gets good and cheap.
My old roommate had Fight Night for Game Cube and use to giggle himself into the wee hours, ANOTHER PUNISHING HAYMAKER, good announcing in that one.
Any rate, I think my original point was, that similarly I'd never bought a tennis game before, but gobbled up Mario Tennis on GC, if that counts :P

Yeah, if this game holds up to what it promises it'll be awesome.
But some of the videos in the clip looked a little un-natural, and if they chose their best video (which most people do) for the ad, then this may turn out to just be weird and frustrating after a couple fights just like Round 3.

Ready 2 rumble revolution and Punch Out aren't in the same category as Fight Night. It's not to say those other games are bad but they aren't real boxing simulations like fight night.

I like how they show the comparative differences between FNR3 and FNR4. It REALLY helps give us (those who have played FNR3) an idea of what they improved upon, rather than strictly showing...what they improved upon. I'm looking forward to knocking some face.

I'm not sure it's a good marketing campaign to constantly point out that your last game sucked.. I was going to pick up FNR3... not now.

I bought Round 3 when I got my ps3 at launch and I agree that all the things mentioned here were issues (although I never got sick of seeing the knockouts); however, if you've changed your mind on buying Round 3 (which can probably be bought for $15-$20) because of these few issues then you are missing out on a very fun game for no reason.

phew I was afraid boxing games weren't gay enough.
FNR5 - "there was an invisible wall keeping the two boxers crotches separated, which is not the case in Round 5"
Also at least be subtle when your actually completely pillaging your old game.

WOW...The game looks freaking SWEET!! Can't wait till this comes out...I was a big fan of FNR3 but this looks so much more polished. I'm impressed EA...and hopefully they used the PS3 as the lead console like they did with Dead Space and MIrrors Edge.

Niiiiiice. FNR3 had realistic graphics, unrealistic animation. Cool that they've stepped it up for FNR4. That was a sweet looking animation for the uppercut near the end of the video: and it's nice to hear some penitence from EA on their previous projects.

ROUND 4! . . . Looking good. I'm especially happy they got rid of the old "parry-try to haymaker" stuff. . . That was pretty unrealistic. . .

This is amazing. I like how he completely criticizes Round 3 and acts like it was bad even though it was one of the best games of its time and pretty much still holds up. Shows how much better Round 4 will be! (or should be)

I wish EA would work as hard on improving FN's craptastic career mode and instead of the eye-candy.

we will have to throwdown ... This game better have paul williams! If it has him I'll buy it day 1 for sure. He completely destroyed winky wright and margaritto when none of us knew he was a cheating bastard. The dude is a freak and I can't wait until he gets a shot at Pavlik.

I am not sure which system yet.
Yea, I watched the Williams/Winky fight - it wasn't bad at all. Amazingly, I wouldn't mind seeing Winky fight again either. The only type of figher Williams might have a hard time with is someone with very fast hands, but I don't see many of those at Middle Wt.. They are talking a Mosley fight - which I would like to see.

I hate these designer clips. It's all marketing BS! When Fight Night Round 3 was coming out. They talked about how amazingly realistic is was and the realistic physics. Apparently now it sucks and you Fight Night Round 4 is what they were really going for, until Fight Night Round 5. When they tell us why Fight Night Round 4 sucked so much and why Fight Night Round 5 is the greatest boxing game ever, until Fight Night Round 6.

so is this!
for the time being.
i actually like it when theres buzz about a new game, especially a sequel. 3 was worth hearing about, so i have no qualm with 4,. marketing isn't bad when its actually informative and not just impulsive.

I'll play this for the gameplay, i'll probably play the UFC one more for the roster, but i hope the gameplay can match this as far as what to expect.
