Honestly, it DOES look like crap. I don't mean graphically, but the touch-screen controls- its no replacement for real buttons. Other then some puzzle games and tower-defense games the majority of iPhone games are just trash.

I agree with that Temple. Developers need to stop trying to shoehorn control schemes that are not meant for the platform. I hate to say it but I would rather NOT see a platformer on the iPhone, simply because it's impossible to accomplish with out proper controls.

iPhone should stick to puzzle games and perhaps enter the RTS genre. More mouse based games and less button based games.

Not interested, I WOULD pay 5-10 $ for a Jade Raymond strip poker game though. Especially if it makes good use of the iPhones touch features.

I think I just made a sexist comment because deep down I know, I will never be loved by an attractive, successful woman like her : (

I still think onscreen controls is the worst idea they could had came up with.

Really, specially for people with big fat thumbs.

I really don't mind on-screen controls actually. They work well in my experience.

@Dirty

Can bones be reduced by excercise?

Naa, i don't have a iPhone/Touch, and i'm not planning on getting one. Its just my opinnion when designing games on this device as a software developer who's trainning to be a game developer

"Its just my opinnion when designing games on this device as a software developer who's trainning to be a game developer"

You might need to be more open-minded about the touch screen then, I think - every phone in the last year, and every phone on the horizon has one, and it's a fast-growing area for small indie devs, which of course is like the minors for getting called up to the big leagues. Every smartphone brand now has or is about to open their own version of the Apple AppStore, the sales are solid for good software.

Sometimes when you're making things for other people you need to get past your own biases - I would suggest you try playing iDracula on the iPhone/Touch, it surprised me with how well touch-screen control can be implemented for an action/shooting game. Very playable.

The other thing to remember about these devices is that a person can get used to the touch screen, and become very proficient. The first two days I owned my iPhone, I wondered what I had gotten myself into as far as text-entry. "Terrible!" I thought. But within a week I was typing as fast as I had been on my previous smartphone, and now I type as fast as I need to, matching or beating my friend's speed on her blackberry.

Long story short: Touch screens take getting used to, but are very usable.

Well, its only my POW. But if i'm asked to develope a game on iPhone, my POW can go suck some balls, money talks dude.

I might add some of my POW to the develope of the same, but not like i'll stick to it, just some opinions. It will be my paycheck signer to decide if its a good or bad call, xD

Is it me or does this look better than the DS game?

I probably won't get this but at least it will be priced correctly. The DS game was 4 hours long and I had to pay 30 bucks!

I don't know. To this day, Hero of Sparta is probably my biggest waste of money in the App Store and this looks awfully similar...

That front page pic looks more like 'Honey, I shrunk the Assasin!"

Look at cute little Altair compared to the size of those planks on the dock and the boat in the background.

WTF?
