A post on the Halo Wars website has announced that a title update for the Halo RTS is on the way. The update looks to address some matchmaking bugs, fine tune game balance and implement a new feature. While the bulk of the update remains a mystery, community manager Aloysius does mention two changes.
One, the Prophet of Regret will have his land speed reduced to match the speed of the other Covenant leaders, thus balancing the Prophet rush tactic (which is a lot of fun, by the way). Another fix will allow users to enable the Honor Guard Wraith and Fireball Warthog units (available to collector's edition owners and those who pre-ordered the game, respectively) inside of multiplayer matches with other players. We're not sure why that wasn't included in the game in the first place, but it's a welcome addition.
No details are given regarding when the patch will release, but Aloysius promises more info will appear on the official Halo Wars site.

I am just hoping they find a way to implement better micro in terms of special attacks. Been trying to poke them enough on their forums to get them to do something about it, but alas.

I think it was silly to make you have to enable the warthog and wraith. It should have been "on" by default and only turned off when you selected it.

It's awesome that they are patching the game. And if the X3F staff thinks that "leader rushing is a lot of fun" then you need to go jump into the Grand Canyon without a parachute. Seriously? You think going over to the opponents base within the first minute of a game and using an early-game overpowered leader to prevent his defense is a lot of fun? It's f-in lame and clearly takes advantage of an imbalance in the system. It's a legit tactic - don't get me wrong - but it ruins the game. I don't mind losing, and often win, but leader rushing is for tools and douchebags whom will do anything for a victory. I really thought the staff here wasn't in either of those groups.

I wonder what EA thinks of this "title update" for HW. Fans have complained about every one of their 360 RTS games not being patched like their PC counterparts, and EA responded by saying that Microsoft wouldn't allow patches to those games due to the size of the patches.
Wonder how EVERY other 360 game can have title updates that improve and patch gameplay, but EA can't "get permission." HW may not have the depth of EA's games, but at least it has a good community of players and the support of the developers.

leader rush is a legit tactic. the point of the game is not necessarily grind loot until you can build super units, its RTS - strategy. Build turrets and flamethrowers when you start the match and see the opponent is using covie. You cannot build 3 reactors and think you'll have a chance. Save your tears for the whaaambulance

Hawks need a little bit of balancing, IMO. I shouldn't be able to strong-arm my way to victory on a 2v1 game by just abusing Hawks.
