Reggie promises a better E3 from Nintendo this year ... again

Fresh off the announcement of The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks at GDC 2009, Nintendo of America head honcho Reggie Fils-Aime had some interesting things to say about Nintendo's plans for this year's E3. "From Nintendo's perspective, we always go into E3 with a very high bar wanting to satisfy not only the core fans but also ourselves," he told GameTrailers TV, teasing the reveal of a release date for the upcoming Zelda. "We haven't announced a launch date -- maybe we'll do that at E3."

So, conclusive evidence of a brand new Kid Icarus game? Not quite. Though Keighley hammered "the Regginator" for details on what exactly Nintendo would be bringing to the "glamour and sizzle" fest of this year's E3, the exec kept mum, saying, "Everyone wants to know what we're going to announce at E3 and my answer is, come to E3 and you'll see." Guess we're waiting 'til June 2 like everyone else.

Killjebus is a Nintendo troll in the same way that he's a professed atheist. There's just too much irrational hate there for it to be real. It's less like doubt and more like disappointment. There's belief in hatred like that (both in God and Nintendo) and strongly so.

I saw that interview, he didn't really admit that they had a bad E3 last year, that shows that they didn't learn from last year, hopefully this is just a front and they did learn something....probably not though

Reggie says what he needs to say: as samfish said, a tool. I put more stock in Iwata, who has been hyping up this E3, saying such things as "this E3 will show why we deserve to beat the PS2" and such.

And seeing as Nintendo said the smaller e3 wasn't a good place for hardcore announcements, maybe the bigger e3 will end their 2 year drought.

Well, since it sounds like Kid Icarus is dead, I guess we can count that out. Sounds to me like Factor 5 is making Pilot Wings, though.
Just give me DKC4 on WiiWare, Star Fox, Retro's rumored Zelda spin off and have Sega announce Platinum's next game for the Wii and I'll be happy as a clam.

Dead or never existed. I saw that NeoGAF thing make the rounds, and it does heavily imply Pilotwings accompanied by some sort of 3rd person shooter that is not StarFox, according to these supposed Factor 5 insiders

I find it funny that everyone is going crazy over a "sequel" to Kid Icarus. It's especially entertaining since most of the kiddies going nuts over the game never played the original.. which was hard as hell, and many people thought it sucked.

The original Kid Icarus is great. One of the few NES games that still holds up.

Anyways, NES Kid Icarus sucked. It was horrible. I played it when it came out when I was around 8, and broke several controllers because it was so frustrating. Though, the title is perfect for the game, because all you end up doing is repeatedly falling to your death.
