Just in case Satoru Iwata's promise of a July release window for Wii Sports Resort wasn't good enough for you, Nintendo sent official word that the upcoming game will launch in the U.S. on July 26. As expected, the beach-themed sequel will come bundled with the MotionPlus peripheral for $50, which will be released by itself on June 8 for $20.
Nintendo promises that "developers around the world" are working on titles to take advantage of MotionPlus. Purely by coincidence, wrists around the world have begun to cry out in fear.

Price waaaay too high.
But everyone knows they will buy it when Nintendo will announce Zelda Wii with Motion+ compatibility.

Man... $20.00 for the MotionPlus peripheral..... it's probably going to be $25.00-$30.00 Canadian...... ugh.
I'd like to get a 2nd one, but Wii Sports resort is the only game I know I will get that uses it.

Virtua Tennis 2009 was also confirmed to support Motionplus today, so that'll also be around when the peripheral is released (as will EA's Grand Slam Tennis [blech] and Tiger Woords 2010).
But $50 for the peripheral and Wii Sports Resort? So that's an extra $30 for a game that was mostly thrown together to demo what the Motionplus can do: I like the idea of a 'throwing frisbees to a dog' and a 'cutting up stationary objects' videogame as much as the next guy but I think I'll pass on that, thanks anyway Nintendo.

I'll wait until more games come out that use it so that I can decide better if the plunge is being made.
Also, where are the different coloured Wii's?
Is asking for a different die of plastic too much? Really?

Aw, nuts. I had a feeling it'd end up being $20 per. I was hoping for a deal on a three pack, since I assume a fair lot of people will be buying Resort + 3 WiiMPs.

I'm thinking I'll at most have 2 of these motion plus controllers, one for me and one for my better half...
If anyone wants to play some 4 player stuff, well, all my friends have wii's, too, so they can bring their own. BYOMPC.

So it's going be $20 for the motion plus and another $50 for the game and you'll need to buy new games that are specially designed for it thereafter. This is beginning to feel like the Barbie story but only with video games!
