Burnout Paradise teases 'Cops and Robbers'
We're not exactly sure what they stole, but judging by the teaser trailer for Burnout Paradise's looming Cops and Robbers mode, criminals will have their jobs cut out for them outrunning the Paradise City fuzz.
As a latest move to "change the way people think about and experience" the chaotic racer, much of Cops and Robbers' details remain behind bars, including the premium DLC's as-yet-unannounced release date. Still, if nothing else, this early look shows that Paradise City's police force is more than equipped to keep pace with lead foots on the wrong side of the law.

Hope this isn't too expensive, $5 sounds like a good price for this.
Gregorius @ Apr 15th 2009 11:17AM
Criterion is awesome. I can't wait to run from the law in my DeLorean.
kdssrugby @ Apr 15th 2009 11:25AM
If you watch crash tv episode 29 on Criterion's website they state that there will be a cop car version of every car in the game. They also state that the gameplay is centered around stolen gold: The robbers try to pick it up and take it to a hideout while the cops try to stop them and return it to their base. It sounds a lot like the briefcase mode for Need for Speed Undercover.

4,99 dollars plz plz plz
Last packs was a bit expensive >
pete @ Apr 15th 2009 1:29PM
499 dollars? no thanks!
343 Guilty Fart @ Apr 15th 2009 3:03PM
Protip: In countries outside of the U.S., especially in Europe, the comma is used as the decimal point and the decimal point used as the comma when using numbers. e.g. $4.350,00 = $4,350.00.
The more you know!
Alex @ Apr 16th 2009 3:20AM
Guilty Fart,
No, I use commas to separate thousandth numbers from the rest eg. £4,999 = £4999 and then £4.99 is four pounds, ninety-nine pence.
Nick Frost @ Apr 16th 2009 4:18PM
Pounds? Pence? Your crazy spaceman monies make me laugh.
Ivan Carlos @ Apr 16th 2009 4:21PM
hahahaha noooo, i'm talking about 4.99
sorry about this confusion, in Brazil we use "comma" instead "dot" to write decimals
TomeOne @ Apr 15th 2009 11:39AM
Gotta note this: every single car in the game can be made a police car.
Every. Single. One.
Wouldn't be surprised if it is more than $5.
PSN: John-Paul-Jones @ Apr 15th 2009 12:38PM
Well Criterion could have just added a default cop skin with a siren on top and apply it to all the cars, but we'll see if each car has a different flair
lego91994 @ Apr 15th 2009 1:41PM
On their podcast they say that all the cars have diffeent skins, with each one inspired by different police forces around the world. Sounds pretty cool, but I'm worried they are really gonna overprice this. All this really is is an extra online mode and some skins for cars already in the game, It really shouldn't be more than 5$...
Deeznuts420 @ Apr 15th 2009 3:57PM
they are the one of the few developers who try to earn our money.
LeMansRacer @ Apr 15th 2009 11:43AM
They've mode every single car into a cop car with this new pack but they haven't said anything about any of the other PDLC cars having a PCPD liverie. The pack is also coming out April 30th and will cost 800MSP and I can say that with confidence as there are a few forums with images of the pack with date and price from an EA site. http://newsletters.ea.com/2009/NEWSLETTER/APR_UK/

Damn, talk about continued support.
NaeemTHM @ Apr 15th 2009 11:52AM
Indeed. I wish more developers were this cool. Criterion could have easily pulled an EA and released Burnout 12, but they know how to please their fans.
I'll definitely show my support and pick this game up.
Shadsy @ Apr 15th 2009 11:58AM
And that's something considering EA publishes it.
Sir Buzz Killington( The Artist formerly known as Jakka) @ Apr 15th 2009 12:11PM
Too bad that for every free DLC pack, the standard stuff is overpriced as fuck.
why not the LS2LS7? @ Apr 15th 2009 11:50AM
Island, please.
todd @ Apr 15th 2009 11:54AM
Hopefully free ha
Felipe @ Apr 15th 2009 12:13PM
Damn you, Criterion. you guys keep making me go back to Paradise City with each new thing you guys make......only 15 days left.
samgt @ Apr 15th 2009 12:18PM
I will never get enough of burnout :) Love the series...

For your health
capt_carl @ Apr 15th 2009 1:54PM
I love you Criterion.
deaftly @ Apr 15th 2009 2:01PM
Hopefully they get a crash mode addon sometime in the future if its even possible
atrimus @ Apr 15th 2009 3:18PM
wow! over a year old and Burnout Paradise is still feeling new and fresh. why haven't Criterion won some Developer of the Year award yet?
why not the LS2LS7? @ Apr 15th 2009 4:13PM
Burnout:Paradise was completely overlooked. It was my game of the year last year by a mile.
Darth Pedo @ Apr 15th 2009 3:52PM
So it's marked man with lights and sirens?
Xploited13 @ Apr 15th 2009 4:13PM
Isn't this essentially the Marked Man event that's already in the game but with cop car skins?
BreakingPoint0 @ Apr 15th 2009 4:38PM
I've been thinking about getting this as a gift for someone and always wondered: does any of the DLC come on the disc with newer prints? Or is it only the base game and then you have to purchase whatever else you want?
Kyle @ Apr 15th 2009 5:37PM
That looks great. And do I spot a take on the UK cop car?
wickedpheonix @ Apr 15th 2009 9:38PM
Burnout Paradise was awesome but after sinking over 200 hours into it, I'm done. It was fun but the gameplay is just not *that* deep. Stuff like this will be awesome I'm sure but I'm more than ready for Criterion (among the best developers like Valve and CCP) to move on and get to their next title.
Alex @ Apr 16th 2009 3:22AM
This is brilliant, but not for me because my BO:P save got corrupted and now I have no cars, road rules, challenges... The list goes on. I had 76 cars!
Oh well. Guess I'll have to do it all again before this comes out so I can burn y'all in my Gold Hawker.
oxymoronx420 @ Apr 16th 2009 9:32AM
They need to put in a menu system to choose what race/events to do.
I quit playing burnout because it feels like too much work to
go and find the start points for all the different races.
Then you drive to a place, and you've already finished the event.
Seriously, the people that think it's immersive to drive 5 minutes to start a race can still do that, but let me hit start and then pick the race from the menu.
I seriously hope they put that into the next burnout game.
Hell, I'd pay 400MSP for that ability.
Gonzo @ Apr 16th 2009 11:43AM
Well, it looks a lot better than most of the crap they've been selling as DLC (hell, it looks better than most of the crap in the game period) but I'm still not buying it.
I'm not buying anything Burnout until they bring back crash junctions.
However, I am kind of glad to at least see a slow down of this once grand franchise's decline.
