Rumor: Beatles Rock Band supports multiple mics, harmonies
From the pages of Game Informer, according to Destructoid, comes a rumor that the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band will support multiple microphones so that players can harmonize on vocal tracks. Apart from making sense, given the wide use of harmonies in Beatles music, the rumor raises a question: Where are we going to keep all this stuff? The sheer amount of equipment needed to supply four virtual rockers with both an instrument and a microphone begins to rival that of a real band. Here's hoping the next Rock Band accessory is a full-size van.

Fucking A! Sounds great to me.
iamnotafish @ Apr 15th 2009 4:07PM
Sounds reasonable. The microphones are all USB so they should be easy enough to transfer over from RB/GHWT or even between PS3 and Xbox? RIGHT?!?
Temidien @ Apr 15th 2009 4:08PM
Pff, how else would we find enough material to fill our Instrument Compatibility Chart??
MarkHawk @ Apr 15th 2009 5:25PM
Im sure the Mics for Lips will work with Rockband titles by then.
NoughtSoClever @ Apr 15th 2009 7:16PM
Second hub anybody?
Temidien @ Apr 15th 2009 4:07PM
I wouldn't mind a van-shaped carrying case for all my gear.
Accessory slaves get to work!!
The Baron @ Apr 15th 2009 4:34PM
That would have to be one big ass carrying case. Maybe if the van's wheels were functional?
Cole @ Apr 15th 2009 4:12PM
too bad it would be a plastic full sized van :(
OMGOMG @ Apr 15th 2009 4:15PM
I heard the special edition comes with a talking plastic Yoko Ono doll.
It has no off button.
kentuckyfried @ Apr 15th 2009 4:16PM
Instead of a van, a free voucher for eternal public storage would be nice...
The RB2 drumset's literally in the middle of my living room, to the side of the TV. I might've gotten this stuff cheap but space is soon becoming an issue.
Alex M @ Apr 15th 2009 4:19PM
I lol'd at the accessory van :)
Beatles' harmonies ftw!

what the shit, my head is hurting like crazy
Brent @ Apr 15th 2009 4:25PM
that sounds freaking fantastic! would be so much fun!
one more mic doesn't take up that much space, honestly guys.
I'm just worried about where to plug the damn things into the 360. would the hub support that many more connections?
Cole @ Apr 15th 2009 4:29PM
You can plug 3 different USB powered hubs into your 360. IDK if its the same for all USBs i assume it is, but USB allows for over 100 USB hubs to be daisy chained together as long as you have self powered ones, not USB powered ones. but like i said, idk how it works for 360, dont know why it would be any different
Mazrael @ Apr 15th 2009 4:29PM
sounds so wrong.. do that many people actually want to be the singer.. when I've played Rock Band with others, being the singer seems the short straw..
Why not have support for 2 guitars, bass & drums?? had a couple of songs where it seemed the lead & rhythm parts were over lapped/merged.. awkward when you know it on a real guitar..
anyhow.. how about getting those (improved) Rock Band 2 instruments shipped to Europe..!??
VaultICEE @ Apr 15th 2009 4:35PM
In response to your idea of 2 guitars, bass and drums... Where would there be room for 4 instrument tracks? The three already there barely fit, and I don't think another would exactly help that case.
As for the harmonies, I think that just might get people to start singing. I mean, its less awkward when you're singing with others, right?
The Baron @ Apr 15th 2009 4:35PM
I don't think the Wii could handle 4 instrument highways :P
oolz @ Apr 15th 2009 9:02PM
you're assuming the game won't have rhythm/lead guitars. The Beatles were known for it and if you're going to replicate the "feel" of being the Beatles, it's hard to do it with just one guitar. We'll have to wait and see though.
Mazrael @ Apr 15th 2009 4:31PM
Could be a snag as only the lauch PS3 had 4 USBs.. 360 only has 3, PS3 only have two now.. unless one of those 4to1 usb boxes work.. :s
The Baron @ Apr 15th 2009 4:37PM
Conveniently, Rock Band comes with a 4 to 1 USB box.
Ezio Auditore de Firenze (PSN slycooper_rocker) @ Apr 15th 2009 8:00PM
the launch ps3s weren't the only ones with 4 usb ports. my MGS4 80gb has 4 ports.
Cools @ Apr 15th 2009 4:32PM
That's pretty cool. At the same time, i think it'd be aawesome if they did that with the beach boys. but then again, i don't think average people could copy those beach boys harmonies. so whatever, this is cool idea.
Mazrael @ Apr 15th 2009 4:32PM
* supposed to of been a reply to Iamnotafish.......
BananaBoat @ Apr 15th 2009 4:33PM
If this is true, it's awesome. I don't think "with a little help from my friends" would sound quite the same without...you know...the friends part.
Aaargh this game is going to rape me with DLC costs, I just know it. It's going to hurt so good.
Cena @ Apr 15th 2009 5:18PM
This is a feature that I've been hoping for since Rock Band 2 came out. If it's true, then Rock Band will truly be the definitive music game.
Kattleox @ Apr 15th 2009 5:24PM
Lol and do u get bonus pts for signing out off tune rofl XD for realizm?!
KIDDING. Just kidding!
BananaBoat @ Apr 15th 2009 5:33PM
If you sing out of tune, I'll stand up and walk out on you
(I could go all day folks. ALL day)
todd @ Apr 15th 2009 5:59PM
Got two mics already... pick up 2 more of those wireless ones from Lips and got all 4, they don't take up that much room.
Joe H @ Apr 15th 2009 6:12PM
And how do you plan on holding them while playing instruments?
todd @ Apr 15th 2009 6:26PM
Got one mic stand... snag 3 more ha...
FLOYD THE WALL @ Apr 15th 2009 6:22PM
I hope they handle the compatibility like RB2 where everything works and if the songs don't support RB: Beatles features it just acts like RB2. Maybe both mikes stay active or something. It would probably insure that even more people buy it.
Plus this opens up a whole chunk of music that had more than one singer.
Lets hope they go for harmonizing and duets.
Lets support one disk for all RB music as long as you upgrade.
bongoes @ Apr 15th 2009 7:20PM
now I'll need another mic.
and a mic stand to play guitar and sing (which I've been meaning to get)
MrSpaceCowboy @ Apr 15th 2009 8:47PM
Aren't you guys forgetting about headset mics?
All that playing the plastic guitar and singing practice is finally going to pay off. I can feel it.
Kamaka @ Apr 16th 2009 12:22AM
cant wait for this game! Come on september get here already!
Mike @ Apr 16th 2009 1:50AM
I think my boner for this game now reaches across Abbey Road.
yonato @ Apr 16th 2009 2:17AM
If they're also gonna include 4 mics then the 250$ price tag is beginning to sound more reasonable.
Jomolungma @ Apr 16th 2009 7:29AM
You can go with a van. I unlocked a private jet a while ago. See ya!
