Rumor: Beatles Rock Band supports multiple mics, harmonies
42
From the pages of Game Informer, according to Destructoid, comes a rumor that the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band will support multiple microphones so that players can harmonize on vocal tracks. Apart from making sense, given the wide use of harmonies in Beatles music, the rumor raises a question: Where are we going to keep all this stuff? The sheer amount of equipment needed to supply four virtual rockers with both an instrument and a microphone begins to rival that of a real band. Here's hoping the next Rock Band accessory is a full-size van.

Sounds reasonable. The microphones are all USB so they should be easy enough to transfer over from RB/GHWT or even between PS3 and Xbox? RIGHT?!?

Instead of a van, a free voucher for eternal public storage would be nice...
The RB2 drumset's literally in the middle of my living room, to the side of the TV. I might've gotten this stuff cheap but space is soon becoming an issue.

that sounds freaking fantastic! would be so much fun!
one more mic doesn't take up that much space, honestly guys.
I'm just worried about where to plug the damn things into the 360. would the hub support that many more connections?

You can plug 3 different USB powered hubs into your 360. IDK if its the same for all USBs i assume it is, but USB allows for over 100 USB hubs to be daisy chained together as long as you have self powered ones, not USB powered ones. but like i said, idk how it works for 360, dont know why it would be any different

sounds so wrong.. do that many people actually want to be the singer.. when I've played Rock Band with others, being the singer seems the short straw..
Why not have support for 2 guitars, bass & drums?? had a couple of songs where it seemed the lead & rhythm parts were over lapped/merged.. awkward when you know it on a real guitar..
anyhow.. how about getting those (improved) Rock Band 2 instruments shipped to Europe..!??

In response to your idea of 2 guitars, bass and drums... Where would there be room for 4 instrument tracks? The three already there barely fit, and I don't think another would exactly help that case.
As for the harmonies, I think that just might get people to start singing. I mean, its less awkward when you're singing with others, right?

That's pretty cool. At the same time, i think it'd be aawesome if they did that with the beach boys. but then again, i don't think average people could copy those beach boys harmonies. so whatever, this is cool idea.

If this is true, it's awesome. I don't think "with a little help from my friends" would sound quite the same without...you know...the friends part.
Aaargh this game is going to rape me with DLC costs, I just know it. It's going to hurt so good.

I hope they handle the compatibility like RB2 where everything works and if the songs don't support RB: Beatles features it just acts like RB2. Maybe both mikes stay active or something. It would probably insure that even more people buy it.
Plus this opens up a whole chunk of music that had more than one singer.
Lets hope they go for harmonizing and duets.
Lets support one disk for all RB music as long as you upgrade.

Aren't you guys forgetting about headset mics?
All that playing the plastic guitar and singing practice is finally going to pay off. I can feel it.

If they're also gonna include 4 mics then the 250$ price tag is beginning to sound more reasonable.
