Here's what we now know, based on the teaser: It's the Renaissance (yep, had that), science is big again, but the real truths? They "lie in the shadows ... written in blood." We're left to wonder if this is some sort of code. Do we need to do something involving shadows (we can handle that) and blood (no way!) in order to see the real teaser? Or, maybe, we simply resign ourselves to the fact we just got handed a heaping plate of letdown.
Assassin's Creed 2 teaser lacks gameplay, oozes melodrama

Of course it lacks gameplay, it's an Ubisoft teaser. Those things never show anything even remotely resembling anything from the actual game. Honestly, I'm surprised that this teaser wasn't just some pre-rendered trash.

Not in the fashion that I meant. Ubi's crap is usually some pre-rendered video that they're trying to pass off as being from the game.
Look at the first trailer for Red Steel, for example:

HEY BONEHEADS!!!
The sequel has to be better than the first. THERE IS NO WAY THAT IT COULD BE ANY MORE BORING!!!!
It needs to be more like GTA where you can choose from lots of different activities or jobs or contracts. If it's the freakin renaissance then you should have some kind of art skills to learn or something to help you score w/ tha ladies. Also you should be able to choose who you want to be in your clan or gang or whatever they called it in those times.
GTA: ITALIA
theres a billion dollar idea right thur.

Hmmm. I am really scared this year for games. Last year there was such a small supply of amazing games compared to 07. The PS3 finally got on the board with some amazing games. But still there were lots of sequals that were so hyped up they were basically failures.Including gears2, cod5, and even halo 3, not really a failure but a disapointment some.Sad to say but that could happen again, and this year is full of sequals. MW2, Deadrising2, AC2, Bioshock2, LP2. I think Assassins creed will turn out like gears 2. and it will loose its simplicity and fun and become something full of too many ideas not thawed out enough.
IDK what will happen. It was underrated, yea it got repetitve but there was so much originality and open world, it has started new ideas and new games. Thats something halo3 did right, they kept it the same as the other 2, a few things added and updated, and some things lost. But otherwise it was exactly the same. Gears was a completly new game, Controls were diffrent, weapons, style. I'm going to deffintly buy it but lets not call it game of the year yet.

This teaser lets on more than what most of you are picking up.
"The Renaissance"
An age of rebirth, as the name says so plainly. If anyone pays attention to storylines at all anymore, they would've almost immediately picked up the link between the first Assassins Creed, and this teaser.
Note: AC is based on, in a way of speaking, a mans bloodline. A chain of memories so to say. Getting it yet? A new link in the chain, with new-age material. A continuing storyline on how Altair's family has been linked to their assassin bloodlines, throughout all history. The setting, has just been said.
What else does this teaser let on about, you ask? Well, pay attention to the drawings, and maybe you'll understand it a little more. Just a little more than halfway through the video (36 seconds in to be exact), you notice a sort of contraption with a blade on its end. An obvious symbol of what is their, an updated version of Altair's old punchblade. What does that mean? Well, updated weapons of course. I mean this IS the infancy of gunpowder weapons after all, and it lets on with more than one may realize. Potential for a small pistol, an old single-shot portuguese rifle, or maybe even a fancy little.... bomb? Oo la la. It also depicts the drawing of a hand at the 42 second mark, with a blade extended out from the palm, in Renaissance-styled clothing. An entirely new look, one could say, is going to be added into the game.
@Conman
The O, H and N symbols represent DNA bonds. Hydrogen molecules (H) are what bind the DNA together to make its Double-Helix form, along with Deoxyribose Sugar bases. Oxygen, is used in weaker bonds between DNA segments. Nitrogen, are three small crcles that allow for the production of more DNA segments.
The Valknut, more commonly known as the "Triad" is what it displayed as well. New eagle vision is quite possible as well mate. Great observations!

I don't know why, but i always thought they would be a little more creative with the title, like maybe Assassin's Supremacy or Assassin's Ultimatum. I guess after all that marketing from last time the name is too valuable.

I'll buy this game when they go back and add a fucking ending to the first one.

maybe if they made the first one more realistic for exmple: and informer says he lost his delivery of flags...would'nt it be more real if he lost all of them in one place?? or 2?
also, when you get the password of your room, you can go to your room while lusy is still sitting near the animus, and when you open the door with the password shes gone!
WTF?? sleeping on duty?

did anyone else notice the part just before he goes to pursue the main guy, he chooses not to kill the grunt? Anyone else think this hints at some sort of morality system?
