I thought the same at first, but there's a distinct sense of something lacking in the video...even taking into account that it's a very rough first shot.
Perhaps my problem with it is that it looks far too industrialized. What's the fun in running around what looks like an old boiler room?
For now I'm cautiously optimistic just by the fact that it looks like they're trying to do some good motion cap animations...I just hope they refine their environment to something more engaging/interesting.

It's missing blood... all those sword slashes and no blood? Collision detection seems under par too. Main character moves robotically

Aside from some nice lighting, the game looks like garbage. Bad animation, poor collision detection, little or no hit reaction, the character has no personality and the enemies look generic and boring. They had some nice art direction and the sets look okay but the actual game play just plain feels dead. I wouldn't even call this a win for xbox in getting it, more like a loss.

Not really, actually, that was Sony's goals. Not only PS3 development is the hardest, but also the amount of engines optimized for it are not that high. So they made their own engine for licensing, which makes PS3 development more appealing.

That video was kinda bad. At first you can't tell if it's called "Mars" or "Spiders" or the developers are Mars and vice versa. Just uninteresting all around.

Seriously, these gaming developers shouldn't release game footage this early. It does nothing positive for the game at all.
You don't have sound or effects yet in place, there is no gore, there is no real lighting or other effects, design is in its infancy. Things are not in the type of shape to be releasing gameplay footage right now, so don't.

Damn man good thing this aint just a PS3/PC exclusive anymore or else it would be horrifying edition to the PS3 exclusive library. It looks horrible now but maybe it will get better later on. It seems it to goes multiplatform because maybe they think there selfish or they want to sell more copies of the game.

Yeah, same here. The vid was just unprofessional. They should've just had a much smaller "Spiders" logo that lead into a much bigger "Mars" title with an extra "Mars" at the end. That way you know it's called Mars made by Spiders. But kinda bleh name for both titles really.
