The Beatles: Rock Band priced in Europe, UK

MTV Games this morning revealed pricing for the European and UK iterations of its upcoming Beatles-based rhythm game extravaganza, The Beatles: Rock Band. Aside from the already announced $250 US release, the "limited edition premium bundle" arrives in the EU at €199 and £179 in the UK.

The release makes no mention of the rumored multiple microphone support (for harmonizing, naturally) but remains steadfast that the bundle will come with "additional special content." Maybe that special content is the unreleased Beatles material included with the game? We'll just have to wait until September 9th to find out. In the meantime, take a gander at the uber-classy box art below in the gallery.

Single band rock games flop. Even the best bands.

Pretty sure Aerosmith sold over 1 million copies.

And even if they did, it's the effin' Beatles. This is going to sell tons.

That is because none of them have been the Beatles. This game is going to make Activision cry.

Unless, of course, you can export your RB2 disk to the hard drive like we did with RB1 and have "The Beatles" version contain the vast library from the entire Rock Band collection.

Either way, I'll be buying the Beetles, but I didn't buy Aerosmith or Metallica. Rented both of those.

And Metallica is doing pretty well too.

huge RB fan. zero interest in this game. maybe some Beatles DLC, but a whole game? i'd rather go to the dark side and pick up GH: Metallica.

Pink Floyd Rock Band Next!!!

Pink Floyd Rock Band would own my soul.

Only Rock Band: Queen would beat that...although I doubt we'd see it *shakes fist at Singstar: Queen*. Pink Floyd would definitelly own though.

queen can not beat pink floyd. Animals is one of my favorite cds. its so good. if they made it ill never play it without smoking a blunt. pink floyd is amazing.

The only band that could compete with a Pink Floyd release would be Led Zeppelin, and it would be close.

Pink Floyd would be the perfect band to show off a new piano instrument.

yeah Led Zeppelin Rock Band would be the only thing better than Pink Floyd Rock Band. and if they debut a new keyboard instrument, Rush would be a better fit.

I think the point is it's "The Beatles: Rock Band" rather than the other way around, so the emphasis is on the beatles.

They definitely just put the rockband on the end to sell it..

yeah because something called "The Beatles" wouldn't sell well on it's own... =p

I'm still on the fence about this. As awesome as they are, I really don't want a whole game of them. Half the fun of Rock Band/Guitar hero for me is that there is so much variation. Metal, Punk, Classic Rock, Blues etc etc. It keeps it interesting.

That said I'll probably be getting GH:M when it comes out over here (in May...urgh), and TB:RB as well.

On a side note, I'm just imagining a collaboration between this and Guitar Hero: Metallica...Rock Hero: Beatallica if you will.

I take it you've never heard of Beatallica then. They do hybrid songs of Metallica and Beatles, and "The Thing That Should Not Let It Be" is one of them (hybrid of "The Thing that Should Not Be" and "Let It Be")

Gah, tripple post. Sorry. I'm just wondering why my original post has been downvoted. All I did was voice my opinion that I want variation in a music game. It's not like I was being racist or biggoted or even being a fanboy. Heck, I didn't even say I diliked The Beatles. Joystiq users downvote/upvote some really odd things. Same with "murph" up the page. So he/she doesn't share your music taste. So f**king what (pun intended :P)? That's no reason to downvote.

I love Harmonix for keeping me excited as hell about their games. I'll be first in line on September 9th.

I think I'll buy a DSi and a few games instead.

Or you could buy a DSlite, an R4 with a 2gb SDcard and save yourself a LOT of money.

Hey wait a minute...does this meen that we might finally get the RB2 instruments over here in Europe? No...can't do...that would make too much sense

it could mean that for once the people of europe wont have to wait 6 ungodly months for the game's release after north america... frankly you guys should get it first for one since they're British and stuff, seems only fair.
