At Mason Middle School in Tacoma, WA, a 13-year-old boy stole one of the guns from his father's collection and brought it in with the intent of trading it for a PSP, kirotv reports. Whatever happened to kids trading pogs?
The student who brought in the gun has been placed in juvenile detention, however a second gun is still missing from the father's collection. It was believed to also be in the school, but the report doesn't confirm if the police have discovered the missing firearm.
[Thanks, Dan D!]

I went to Mason Middle School! A kid bringing a gun to school is not surprising there! A kid from Tacoma that can afford a PSP is surprising, though.

His dad should go to prison for supplying his kid with a gun. I don't care if the kid stole it, there is no excuse for your gun getting stolen. Another irresponsible gun owner.

Yeah what ever happened to Pogs ..... I remember them from like a week in my youth then they were gone.
Still a legitimate PSP for Guns program might actually help remove some guns from the streets, actually thats what I thought it was when I first read the article title =P

Yeah, pogs were before my time, but the big thing to trade when I was a kid was Pokemon cards. Nobody ever really played them but the whole point was just having them and trading the ones you had for cooler looking ones. I remember once I got a huge set and brought it into school and it was the day my school banned the cards from being in school, they went downhill after that...

Hey. maybe this could have been prevented if Guns supported UMDs.
Seriously, though, the sad thing about this cases is that this are the ones we know of.

I feel like such a superstar, since I was the one to tip the story!
While watching this story on KIRO, I was thinking, "Man, I have a PSP that I'd trade for a .45..."
