Agito is the PSP addition to the massive Final Fantasy XIII universe. Like many other PSP games, this RPG is meant to be a multiplayer affair, encouraging PSP owners to connect and battle cooperatively. This trailer finally showcases some of the Crisis Core-inspired gameplay we've heard so much about. (Skip to 1:38 to see non-CG footage.) Too bad Square Enix doesn't plan on releasing this game until 2010 ... or later.

Just seems like an odd choice of platform to develop for given the immense popularity of DS/DSi/iPhone right now. While I don't particularly love games on iPhone, the success of games on that platform is hard to ignore.
Nothing against PSP, it certainly has better graphics and more capability for longer running games...but I don't hear many people playing on it nowadays.
Maybe that's just me.

Yea, it sold only 50.000.000 consoles, and, OH NOES, it outsells DS in Japan.
Maybe they should develop Agito for Nokia 1100, since it outsold DS and IPhone? "It's just hard to ignore..."

Why is it always an evil empire and industrial? Why is the kingdom always good and naturist/magic loving?! Was that cutscene a metaphor for capture the flag?

Almost related question: Is Crisis Core worth it? Is it better than FFT2 for DS? I tried FFT for PSP but it was EXTREMELY slow paced which fucked the whole game up (Like the enemy taking 2 mins to move, and you move very slowly). Is Crisis core also slow?

Well Crisis Core is not a Final Fantasy Tactics game so is no point comparative there lol. The battles in CC are very fast paced and you can move around, dodge, cover, slash, use magic, use items and at times... I dont know what some can think of it but for me is a worthy add to the game library

This is using a card battle system? I will never understand Square Enix's obsession with that. I will play it for sure, don't get me wrong, but I just wish everyone would let go of card battles.
I loved Crisis Core, mostly, but one thing that I did find annoying was that the enemy encounters weren't randomized. They appeared in the same area every time. I found the combat very enjoyable, but it's not so enjoyable to look at a small area and think "mmmyep, right there, that's where those bitches are gonna get me."

did anyone really watch that trailer? it doesn't use a "card"system at all. It's an action RPG (think Phantasy star online) one of the classes uses cards as a weapon and a focus for magic. (and apparently, summoning) I'm kinda shocked that you guys would be so far off the mark on this one...

i was thinking this too. it doesn't look like a card battle system, just that one guy actually using cards while everyone else has their own weapon. even if he is the 'main' character, it looks like from the footage you get to play as other people in normal melee combat. can't label this as a card/not a card based game until i see more footage though.
