there goes that word again: PRICE CUT

why? because its selling a thousand less. it cost 250 already and it still sells more then the 360.

Damn you Microsoft, you started this.

No, there is no need for a price cut. The console beat everyone else, the only thing it didn't beat was itself in a month where, one year ago, it sold Super Smash Bros Brawl, which is one of the most popular Wii games to date. Of course it's not going to sell as well.

Price cut isn't a word. It's two words.

And no, MS didn't start this, consoles have always dropped in price. People just want it to happen sooner sometimes.

MY FELLOW GAMERS... sales isn't everything, at least not when you do not have stock in the company. I keep reading about how GTA:CTW sold bad and how Madworld "bombed", does this make them bad games. NO. When will we ever stop caring as if we choose a side when we buy a console. Sony and the PS3 have the worst of the "sale" stick though, even though they provide AAA Exclusives.

thats all

I can't be the only one here who thinks that Family Guy just all of a sudden devolved into slapstick crap for teens and frat boys a few years back (and it's jokes like this that show it).

@Insight

As opposed to the "highbrow" humor that we came to know and love in the first seasons?!?

There's definitely been a change, but i still think the humor is targeted similarly to the way it was originally. Certainly that whole episode with "Handiquacks and Fred Savage being the greatest actor in human history" wasn't rife with humor for the fratcore.

I do have stock in the company, have since 2000. However, as it's been quite high and most markers point to a steady decrease soon, I'm selling them for a rather nice profit.

Thanks Nintendo, for 8 + years of wonderful growth and profit, even when people said you should get out of the business. Though my money bin won't be as big as yours, it will be enough for me to live quite comfortably for a while yet and save my pay cheques for other savings and luxuries.

Now if only my Sony, Virgin, BAA, and NUTS stocks would do as well.

It's not going to sell more cause everyone who wanted one already has it.It could also be that all of it's great titles are already release and potential gamers see nothing to look forward to.

This is such a bad excuse. That would be the case if everybody stopped having babies like 10 years ago. There's about 1 million babies born every day. Meaning that there's always a large influx of new gamers.

yea... i mean it's only outselling the rest of the competition by a large margin. but I figure Nintendo realized they couldn't live off of Wii Sports forever.

I foresee a new Wii bundle w/ WMP and Wii Sports Resort... that's enough to get the masses hyped up again

--what the hell----- ...... oh sorry about that-that was my split PC personality ..
Too Nintendo, But I Fully Expect Nintendo to Bounce back with some future Releases in the coming months. And if Nintendo will simply lowers the price to match the Xbox 360 they will kill off their competition.

For as long as I live, I will want to play each and every new Mario or Zelda game. Therefore, I will be buying each and every new Nintendo console. This is how Nintendo is, and always will be, alive and well in the console business.

I agree with most, it's a shame that 3rd party developers hardly feel the love from the Ninty faithful. The fact of the matter is, most gamers just want the new 1st party games with the classic, mascot characters.

Basically, the Wii is a 'compliment' console where you have it and either the 360 or the PS3 to play everything else on. I love my Wii, but it doesn't get used half as much as my 360.

Yeah, all the home consoles seems to be going down, but oddly enough handhelds seem to be doing better. Maybe in this day and age handhelds appeal to more people.

Thank god for that. I hope it gets worse for them. Good things happen when companies are backed into a corner, look at MS with the 360 or Sony with their improvements to the PS3. Nintendo have it too easy and they need fucking with so we get some core titles out of them.

This is always the problem with business projections and goals. The company I used to work for once suspended bonuses because they had only reached 90% of their sales goal; it didn't matter that the goal was almost double what they had done the previous year. So even though sales were 180% of the previous year, the management was crying that the sky was falling.

The Wii is still outselling the world, it's just slowing down like everything else.

"Never mind that the Wii outsold every other console in March, with the DS in second place -- it failed to beat a past version of itself, and thus is a loser now."

They're defending it. Stop acting like a moron.

Really does anyone find this shocking. The console was aimed at the non-hardcore gamers, there are so many people out there with a a Wii that have Wii Sports and don’t want anything else. I know quite a few people that have the Wii and they only talk about playing 1 or 2 games on it that’s it. In my opinion I rarely see the Wii being treated as the gaming console their PS2 was. It’s great no scratch that its awesome for parties but after the party is over its no as much fun.
Someone said that the Wii compliments another console, and that is it where novelty wears off. At a certain point you'll want to see some serious HD gaming on that huge investment of your home theater or tv, stick figures get old fast.

All Nintendo has to do is to continue releasing their hypermainstream games and the sheep'll keep moving. Hell, don't be suprised if they come out with "Make A Sammich" starring Wario for people who wish to gain weight.
