Fans of the first-person parkour simulator Mirror's Edge are bound to enjoy this video discovered by the BBPS (embedded after the break). In the video, you'll see a very talented man perform all kinds of parkour antics, all shot from a first-person viewpoint. He even managed to find some surprisingly colorful surroundings to make it feel more like the game. It's all very impressive until around 2:05 into the video, at which point we realized it was filmed by awizard.
To think such a powerful man would waste his time making silly videos.
What most folks don't realize, is that most of that isn't too hard to pull off. Some of it, yeah takes practice (The corner running thing is hard), but for the most part, all that separates anyone in half-decent shape from that guy, is he's not afraid to fall and skin his knee.
Yeah... as someone who is very much in shape and who actually trained with professional traceurs in DC at Primal Fitness for 4 months, it ain't easy... the only easy part is falling and hurting yourself. And that's if you're doing it with two hands.
lol fatass keyboard warrior... NOOO.... We go in...we killl!!!....NO more talk...we kill!!!...Soon my dog of war, but we have to do it my way...Losersss....Losersss wait!!!
I don't think he was being a hater, just making a probably accurate point. That's what makes parkour so cool - it takes some decent running shoes, a pretty in-shape body, and a lot of balls.
I hate this whole parkour outbreak ever since videogames, i have been a traceur for 4 years, and it just makes me a little angry that this wonderful discipline has only become popular because of videogames
Man, this guy really, desperately, wants an oppressive government regime that he can fight by... running over things. I mean, I'm not denying he's a ninja, but he's also a ninja who just ran up and down a park and some railings.
I would break my neck doing any and all of those tricks (even the dice ones) but I think it is fair to say that unless there's a guy after you, or you're carrying a vaccine, an extended sequence of free-running would make you look like someone single-mindedly chasing a bee.
I agree about the dice part. Cool as it was, it didn't fit with the rest of the video. And the skateboarding was stretching it a little. Overall though, still impressive.
PARKOUR, in being a physical activity, versus a neural activity, the ability be in touch with and feel, or in the case of a video game SEE, one's appendages in motion is key to enjoyment and safety. MEANING, i can't stand MIRROR'S EDGE because it doesn't feature a THIRD-PERSON avatar.
