how about a damn release date?
Saltypoison @ Apr 18th 2009 5:47AM
Soon™
Dirty @ Apr 17th 2009 2:42PM
Damn it, they just pushed back the release 2 weeks because you had to ask.
please @ Apr 17th 2009 3:06PM
Still a stupid fantasy click your spell rts. Korean love shooting spells at each other
Erik @ Apr 17th 2009 3:49PM
So when's World of Starcraft coming out?
knightsray @ Apr 17th 2009 5:22PM
how about they release it when it doesn't look as boring? sorry but it doesn't seem interesting. World In Conflict and Company Of Heroes hold the RTS crown for me right now..way more interesting an action packed. This game is just like mehh. I doubt I'll get it for even 20 bucks. To each their own!
Bored Exchange Student @ Apr 17th 2009 2:30PM
Wow!
Rehash much?
So I'm guessing Diablo III will be a rehash also?
Click! Click! Click! Click!
Blizzard defenders coming in, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Reuben @ Apr 17th 2009 2:55PM
I don't find your message to be deserving of a Blizzard defense blitz, do I did vote you down anyway because you're obviously trying to start trouble and that little countdown shtick really gets on my nerves.
please @ Apr 17th 2009 3:07PM
Blizzard Defense to busy countering spells on their clickcraft games
Bored Exchange Student @ Apr 17th 2009 3:15PM
(at) Reuben
But it's true. Blizzard rehashes every fucking thing. It just takes them mad long to do it.

at Bored: How so?
WarCraft Orcs and Humans was very different from WarCraft II and WarCraft 3 changed almost completely from WarCraft II.
Diablo to Diablo II was a huge advancement also. StarCraft was the first with no sequel and this is the 2nd and so far there's alot of updates, though I will admit most of the updates do seem to be graphic wise while the gameplay is pretty much the same. But why "fix" what ain't broke? SC was by far the most balanced RTS I have ever played in my life. WarCraft II was my favorite, then War3 then SC, but SC was definitely the most balaced. I also am a fan of medieval games so thats why I like WarCraft better.
As for WoW, that was a whole new IP. Diablo II is looking to be another sequel with alot of changes and there isn't even much info on that.
Anyway, I found a PC for $640, AMD Phenom with a decent Graphics card. I'm buying it next week hopefully just so I can play SC2 and D3.
So yeah... where's the rehash?
The Baron @ Apr 17th 2009 6:39PM
When your game is a televised sport in some countries, sticking to the formula of the original is at least advisable.
ice~ @ Apr 17th 2009 2:33PM
Meh. Lol jkjk. I'd get butt raped for that comment. And that would be painfull...
ice~ @ Apr 17th 2009 2:43PM
Lol I love how they're announcing it like a sports game. "Smart move on the Zerg players part" "ooooh and it looks like he missed the drone JUST IN TIME!"
animeko @ Apr 17th 2009 3:07PM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6OB_rkCysM
*Like* a sport? For some of us, Starcraft is a sport... I'm not THAT crazy for it but I still can't wait for this game. Seriously, this sequel has taken half my lifetime to come out. :*(
NoughtSoClever @ Apr 17th 2009 3:32PM
Who'd like to hear John Madden do commentary?
Ghen @ Apr 17th 2009 5:02PM
and hear him fumble all over the words in a sport that he knows nothing about? No thanks.
NoughtSoClever @ Apr 17th 2009 5:48PM
No, I meant because it would be hilarious.
ice~ @ Apr 17th 2009 5:51PM
and then he'd start drawing circles...then penis' all over the screen. No thanks!
Noah @ Apr 17th 2009 6:25PM
"In order to build units, you have to acquire minerals and vespene gas. BAM!"
WiredKnight @ Apr 18th 2009 12:24AM
I can't stand sports commentary.
I know Starcraft players can be hugely competitive, and I know some people like seeing the play-by-play. I on the other hand, play games to _get away_ from sports.
ice~ @ Apr 18th 2009 1:22PM
I just find commentary on video games to be, well, stupid. Some people like it though, I personally, would rather be playing the game or not playing it at all. But you're all right, some people are seriously addicted to it.
Giroro @ Apr 17th 2009 2:37PM
This would be cool, except I already decided I'm not going to buy the game :\
NoughtSoClever @ Apr 17th 2009 4:07PM
Oh! Please decide to buy it instead so it can be cool again!
Giroro @ Apr 18th 2009 12:52AM
Hey, I'm not going to pay full price for 1/3 of a game. And if Activision decides to charge for battlenet, they can quite frankly shove it up their ass.
chris @ Apr 17th 2009 2:39PM
Anyone else notice the two faces in the static after the blizzard logo? Are those the presenters?

How about HD downloads like BigDownload?
Crusty Magic @ Apr 17th 2009 3:04PM
Seconded.
Sage009 @ Apr 17th 2009 6:33PM
The SC2 website has the HD version
BigD145 @ Apr 17th 2009 2:52PM
Release all factions in one box for under $60 and I'll think about saving up to buy this.
Ghen @ Apr 17th 2009 5:03PM
They are all in the same box, online. Its only the story mode that is split into 3.
BigD145 @ Apr 17th 2009 8:24PM
Exactly the problem.
Matt Rix @ Apr 17th 2009 8:46PM
I don't know how bad your reading comprehension is, but the other factions are full expansions(with new units, etc.). You'll get to play as all 3 races in all of the games, it's just that each of them will *focus* on a certain race(with more missions for that race). I don't know why that's so hard for people to get over.
Basically: you should be happy that there are going to be two expansions for this game instead of one(eg: Brood War), but instead you're whining.
Giroro @ Apr 18th 2009 12:54AM
No expansions is better than one expansion. Think about it.
Noah @ Apr 18th 2009 11:11PM
I was under the impression that each episode would retail for $20-$25, for a total of a full-price game with much more content. Of course I could be completely wrong about this but who knows?
Einhanderkiller @ Apr 17th 2009 2:54PM
Game of the year.
Noshino @ Apr 17th 2009 3:37PM
I know it will be Game of the Year, but I just want to know of which year though...
splinteredvision @ Apr 17th 2009 3:05PM

that about explains it.
mercy @ Apr 17th 2009 3:23PM
Seems complete to me, release it already!!
CtrlBurn @ Apr 17th 2009 3:25PM
Sex! It looks like old Starcraft, but more better.
Derek @ Apr 17th 2009 5:03PM
Can you say annoying commentary?
Noah @ Apr 18th 2009 11:12PM
No.
Teabag @ Apr 17th 2009 5:39PM
RTS commentary? I saw something new today.
Looks like the previous one. Hadn't played much SC so i can't really scrutinize it much. But it has to be better than WIC and COH for realz. But bah, it's Blizzard + Starcraft. It will rake in money in no time.
Mr French @ Apr 17th 2009 5:54PM
so half the time i had no idea what the hell was going on (not an RTS player in the slightest), but i have to admit that watching that battle was quite entertaining.
drew @ Apr 17th 2009 10:30PM
lol of course the korean would win against all odds
rbtroj @ Apr 17th 2009 11:47PM
I will never not think professional videogaming is completely stupid.
Now please excuse me while I fade away ...
Noah @ Apr 18th 2009 11:08PM
The "get a life" comment is completely stupid. How does, say, playing baseball, hockey or football for a living contribute to civilized society any more than playing video games for a living does? It's entertainment with established rules, a spectacle-game if you will, and if people want to see others play it and achieve greater skill than they ever will, it's their decision.
