Before reading on, we beg of you, our dearest readers, to heed this solemn warning. Do you remember that magical feeling that filled you the first time you crossed the aquatic threshold into Bioshock's labyrinthian metropolis, Rapture? That warm, gooey feeling of excitement and wonder? If you read Gamespot's recent all-inclusive, spoiler-filled preview of 2K Marin's highly anticipated follow-up, you'll probably be robbed of that feeling the first time you boot up Bioshock 2. Trust us. We made the sacrifice to pass this news onto you, and we're pretty sure we won't be able to get to sleep tonight.
If you absolutely must know what tantalizing details Gamespot dug up, you can check out their video featurette, which we've posted after the jump. Just don't come crying to us when you learn that the original Bioshock was actually just a dream sequence. (Oops! Sorry!)

I wished they left out the part about the big sisters... That was the only spoiler for me.

I don't know if you were kidding Justin, but if you weren't that's kind of an ass-hole thing to do by putting the spoiler in the text , especially text that is before the jump, and after saying "If you absolutely must know what tantalizing details Gamespot dug up, you can check out their video featurette, which we've posted after the jump".

It's not often you see someone taking the trouble to hyphenate the "ass-hole."

Haha, screw you, Joystiq, the first game was a dream! You ruined it! :D
You need to give spoiler warnings for spoiling the spoiler video!

I would love to know what percentage of the people who watch that video list their birthdays as January 1st.
As for the game itself, the feel of combat really needs to be improved.

My birthday changes with each video, usually depending on where the mousewheel lands.
One time it was June 6, 1986, the other time it was March 20, 1972. And so on...

Why do they keep saying you play as the 1st Big Daddy, when this is a sequel?

Great video, but horribly presented by you guys. Don't hype up the spoiler aspect to deter people who don't want to be spoiled and then put in a "joke" that will make those same people watch it just to see if you were joking or not.
For those checking out the comments before the video, no Bioshock 1 was not just a dream, and the video doesn't even contain that many spoilers if you've been keeping up with the already released news about Bioshock 2.

First game was a dream? Why the fuck did you have to put that at the end of your article and not claim spoiler yourself?
I had just ordered the original game (i was deployed to iraq during it's release) and i was going to get ready for part 2. you guys are a bunch of dicks. i would expect something like that from a fan site - not a professional website.
I hope your mother gets donkey punched during a gang bang.

Is anyone else just slightly annoyed by the fact that the 2K Marin people speak about the original Bioshock as if they were the ones who'd developed it? As far as I know it was only 2K Boston/Australia that developed the original game with Marin just taking care of porting it to the PS3.

same goes with infinity ward and treyarch ?
id blame the publisher for pumping out too many games and not allowing the same developers to work on them.
but then we would have less games. good or bad?
when you take control of something, you tend to start explaining that its yours and that you own it... goes with the territory i guess.

The studio that founded 2K Marin has members that made the original Bioshock. Do your homework next time.

There'll be a PC version. PC is considered this gen during every gen, due to upgraded engines, graphics, etc.

If by "warm gooey excitement" you mean thinking "wow this game is like an annoying version of System Shock 2" then yeah, I guess I remember that. I hope they do something to make the combat fun and restore suspense to the game--two things that were sorely missing in BS1 thanks to annoying big daddy fights and too-convenient-to-abuse restore-chambers.
