it wasn't too basic (huhuh pun), it just has nothing to do with videogames, PA is regularly excluded as well because they sometimes have random comics about whatever

I kinda liked them all... Except for Dipswitch. I got the joke. I didn't care for it, but I got it.

The Sonic comic was more sad than funny, but it was the strongest of the lot.

Shame you couldn't vote for the Joystiq comic, it would have won.

The rest are awful. Awful. awful. awful..........

I don't have the required brain damage to find any of these amusing.

I was brain damaged enough to find about half of them chuckle worthy.

You know, when someone who writes comics and draws them as their hobby comes up with an idea, sometimes they KNOW that the idea is perfect in its horribleness.

I'm proud of the joke in Dipswitch this week. It's the 'Sin-eater' of comics. Now, no other comic writer/artist has to make that joke. It's been out there, waiting to be used, other comic writers sniff their highbrow, blue-noses at it, saying 'tut tut, too pedestrian', whereas I say...'It must be told, because it is SUCH a bad pun...it transcends the awfulness...and no other artist must be tempted to use such puns in their comics if this proves false.'

Also, the last panel is the key. All three players know that they're in a bad comic. Just look at the lost expression on Ryu's face. Like a puppy who's peed the carpet. He can't help it...I made him say the joke. So that good comics like 2Pstart and BitF don't have to.

If you didn't like it, it doesn't surprise me...and I guess since I ain't getting paid, I won't be getting fired if you didn't. MUA HA HA. If you did like it, meta-pun-jokes are for you...welcome home to Dipswitch, where I will not avoid the low hanging fruit...I make low..hanging...fruit..ade?

Thanks for the votes! :)

I used that same excuse when I failed a maths test way back when. It didn't fly with the teacher and I was told to work harder when next week rolled around. But there was no next week. She died, and I never got the chance to show I was better than a grade F.

You know, Bowz, you've never offered one...ONE...word of constructive criticism in regards to my comic. Each time you reply about my comic, it's usually some snarky comment which in your view comes off as witty, I guess. You raise your clutched hands over your head and shake 'em, congratulating yourself over another bon mot that sliced another person open, teaching them to open their gobs about video games on YOUR precious internet. Possibly your friends think you're a hoot, and more power to them.

Here's the thing:

To me, you're not funny. Or clever. You're just kind of mean. You have the low cunning of a vicious little dog, who knows just how to nip at people. I suppose you might be a kid, in which case I care less about your opinion and can just leave it at immaturity. Or you might just truly be one of those people I truly wish I could reach and make laugh once. A seemingly bitter, depressed critic of everything. From music, no doubt, to movies, or pro bono webcomics, you probably spew vitriol and venom like a blind snake, hoping someone will feel as bad as you do. About whatever it is you feel bad about.

But sadly, Mr. F in Maths, I'm not affected by someone who's just mean for the sake of being mean. I wanted to write you to say that I get it, you're a prick, and you'll say prickish things until someone notices you.

I've noticed, and I'm not overly impressed.

Taking the piss out of someone is fun, but like I said, you're just a mean-spirited person.

Sorry about that.

That macro rant should have been saved for a time when I actually did go all out. I’m just a figure on the internet, a loudmouth with a microphone. Imagine how you’re going to feel when someone relevant, someone like John K, actually calls out your work for what it is. Are you going to let emotion get the better of you, or are you going to show some character and backbone, take the words on the chin?

Judging from your weak rebuttal (from a completely innocent jibe, I might add) it’s more likely to be the former. Like I said in my initial message: try harder.

The fact that you crawled out of your lair to explain why the unfunny comic was unfunny already implies that you had some misgivings about publishing the work at all. So why take your pathetic feelings of vulnerability out on me. Suddenly, a malcontent like me is allowed to play the position of victim. You know you’ve messed when a situation such as this is allowed to develop. Put your emotions in check, brother, and allow that anger to feed your work.

You consistently being a prick has made me say: 'Wow, that's kind of a dick move. You're kind of a dick.'

I respond just about every week, so I've not been lurking and plotting a response. Most of the time, the criticism is useful, or at least pointing in the right direction. This isn't really a conversation you should be having, man. You should be the one who's comfortable enough in their own bitter little skin to enjoy when people understand you.

I embrace the fact that you're a dick. It's the internet, why should you be any other way, right?

No hurt feelings. Just saying, you're a mean person.

By the way, I think that Griffin's comic is better than at least half the entrants this week. He really should have a button in the voting.

"crafted by people exponentially more talented than we could ever hope to be."

You guys are incredibly talented, that is quite possibly the greatest comic I have ever read.

I don't know if I am the only one or not but I find half the fun of Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is reading the resulting comments.

Either way, XKCD FTW
