Japanese hardware sales, April 6 - April 12: Persistent edition

PSP & PS3 have been selling right around the DS & Wii for a while now.

I'm pretty stunned that the ye olde PSP is outselling the shiny new DSI, and that the Wii is still absolutely tanking.
Both bigger points than whatever the so-called underdog is doing.

How many weeks has the PS3 outsold the Wii in Japan this year?

Hitting the tag, I had to quick skim through to "Japanese hardware sales, Feb. 16 - Feb. 22: Spit-take edition" to find when the Wii had outsold the PS3. And it was a rather slim margin.

Jeeze am I moron, I saw Sonyholic and read it as Sonicholic initially. And then I even wrote Sonyholic opening my post. Man, am I ever an idiot. Player Markez looses 20 genius points.

That is interesting, though I care nothing for the system. I'm surprised there are still games being made for it at this point, but I have a theory: since the PS2 has effectively been dropped by consumers nowadays, developers are looking for the next system to put games that, before, would've been placed on the PS2. jRPGs, tactical titles, in general titles that graphically beat out the DS, but don't have quite the development budget to place on a next-gen system.
