I wouldn't want to meet either of them in a dark alley. Total badasses!

I like how there's all these arguments about how video gaming isn't a sport, because all you do is sit on your butt the whole time, when half the time I turn on ESPN it's showing the World Poker Tour, where all I see is a bunch of guys sitting on their butts playing cards. And in poker you don't even have to have lightning-fast reflexes or anything.

Eat it Wong, you cocksucker.

The dude is a total douche in person. How appropriate that Diago chops him down to size AGAIN.

And you left out how Daigo did it respectably, not show boat during any of his combos and ultra finishes. The only reason why I'm not a J. Wong fan.

For all the Umehara fanboys floating around, it's funny that most of them can't actually spell his name.

'Grats to all of the participants, especially the world exhibition players - Wong, Poongko, Iyo, and Daigo all showed the audience a great time with some truly high level SF4 play.

It's been a while that I post a message here but I read daily. I can't believe I'm gonna back up tmac but I agree with him %100.

Are you people serious!? I can't believe you try to compare a gamer to real athlete like hockey players or olympians. I would ROFL if a gamer tell an olympic gold medalist that he's an athlete too!

Gamers play games, not sports. This doesn't mean it's not fun to watch gamers competing in a tournament and it's ok to have "pro" gamers, but please, don't insult real athletes by saying gamers are. Sorry for my bad english.

You cannot disagree that top level gaming like Wong and Daigo puts out isn't something short of amazing, and skilled. The argument being that athletes posses a certain level of skill to do what they do, and so do top level gamers which is true.

Both have a competitive nature, both showcase the best of the best, but the word "athlete" refers more often than not directly to physical activity. Although one webster dictionary definition of athlete is: "One fitted for, or skilled in, intellectual contests; as, athletes of debate" High quality gamers would more or less fall into the category of the great chess players of the world only with the added skill of reflexes. In summary I don't think I would refer to them as athletes, but I would say they posses a similar skill level and success in competition that athletes posses.

I'm not tmac. Here's my old account: http://www.joystiq.com/profile/29289 but I don't remember my password and made the mistake to use the e-mail of my ISP, an ISP that I don't use anymore.

btw, if someone know how to recover an account please let me know.

The Justing Wong vs Daigo top level fights continue! lol, great to see the best remain the best further proving fighting games take a serious level of skill and not for the weak of heart. Great job Wong!

I like how people eat up all the garbage news about costume DLC on this site, but when there are gamers out of there actually doing something with (and for) the hobby -- a scene where people travel and meet people OFFline -- everyone's like WHO CARS

I mean I don't expect people to hit up YouTube to match SF matches if they don't play, but to just be like DURG NO BIG DEAL on a videogame site full of useless posts, well that's kind of retarded.

How does this make Daigo world champion? To me it just seemed like an exhibition tacked onto the end. Shame about Justin though, being crowned the best fighter in the country then having your arse handed to you so comprehensively.

Yeah, i'm also wondering how that makes Daigo the world champ (or unbeatable as some people seem to think). He's been beaten before, and he must have been beaten by Iyo if Iyo is Japan's national champ (unless Daigo just didn't participate, I can't see that but I don't know for sure).

If he did, that means Iyo beat Daigo, Justin beat Iyo, and Daigo beat Justin. Even if you don't consider the fact that it was juts an exhibition, it seems like nothing definitive comes out of that.
