Thanks, Chris. And let it be known that I'm a huge fan of Joystiq. Looking forward to continuing to work in the trenches of journalism with so many of my peers, including the superb team here, fighting the good fight.

So with you leaving MTV and N'gai leaving Newsweek, what are we learning about the "Gaming columnist in the mainstream newsbeat" role?

Even Seth, who does a great job, seems to be lost between the regular NYT audience and the gaming enthusiast audience.

Is gaming just still too niche to work in a non-gaming-focused news outlet, or have the mainstream outlets not yet figured out how to integrate and present this content yet?

Makes your work a bit more accessible, at least. So long as your heretofore excellent content and commentary doesn't change, i won't have a problem with it.

All these blogs feed into each other anyway, so it doesn't really matter where you go...

I'd be a little pissed if I were Klepic! They downsized him, then this dude jumps ship shortly after. If he knew he didnt want to stay, he should have taken the hit and saved a job for the guy that really wanted to be there.

Listen, these are good sites, but they've long stopped being "blogs" that fight "corporate" anything. You guys are very heavily backed by a pretty large entity.

since when has MTV been considered a legitimate gaming outlet?

I mean how long has it been since MTV were considered a legitimate music outlet? 20 years?

He's just made a step up in legitimacy if you ask me.

Interesting. He was a stand-in editor at least once or twice in the past for Kotaku, so I guess this was the next obvious step. Good luck, Stephen!
