Taking my time following the main quest storyline with lots of exploring. I'm about to start Operation Anchorage and will get the Pitt in a couple of weeks so it looks like I've got plenty of Fallout on the horizon!

************* Spoiler Alert! ********* Spoiler Alert! ******************

I didn't want to go in and die from radiation so I spoke to Lyons and talked her into going into the chamber. She said something about a real hero doing it. The ending spoke about me and dogmeat continuing our journeys through the wasteland. I played as an uber-good hero. I read in the Fallout 3 strategy guide there are many endings depending on how you dealt with the president and other variables.

Except that Microsoft did not secure Oblivion's expansions as exclusive whereas they have for Fallout 3.

This DLC looks good but does anyone agree that all the Fallout 3 DLC so far has been a bit overpriced?

Compared to what?

Compared to most other DLC (Bring Down the Sky, Knothole Island, any of the many CoD or Halo '3 map' packs, etc), this DLC is a steal.

Consider that you'd play these Fallout Dlc's only once while you'd play the mythic map pack (or any good multiplayers map pack) far more.
I think for a single player experience the price should be lowered,
They're selling the pit for a 1/6th of the full retail price game, I doubt its as long as a 1/6th of Fallout.

Developers are probably not extending DLC to PS3 for two reasons. First, there are too few potential PS3 purchasers relative to the cost of work needed to create a PS3 version. Second, developers are further charged by Sony per download DLC based on the size of the file. This is because Sony's online service is free to console owners rather than the pay model that Microsoft has. Sony has a great piece of equipment in the PS3 but they took their core customer, the gamer, for granted. With the increasing availability of HD content for download or streaming, Blu Ray has not been the must-have item Sony had counted on. Hard media is going the way of the dinosaur.

About time, I've been holding out for Broken Steel, then I'm buying all 3 dlc packs.

I still have no idea why this is the last of the 3 to be released. It just doesn't make any sense. I haven't bothered with the other 2 because I'd rather play them by continuing my one game (which is saved near the end).

I guess it's a mute point now since in a couple weeks they'll all be out.

Only question now is, do I buy Broken Steel soon, or wait for it to hopefully be offered at a discounted rate in the future, since that seems to happen with a large number of DLC (various sales and such).

With this DLC upping the level cap, does that also mean that I can go back and do side missions after I have finished the main quest line?

i completely disagree.

this is just like the whole walmart vs. local grocery argument.

just because walmart makes more money then everyone else doesn't mean we should shop there. i might prefer the local grocery store because they provide better this or that.

point being, i think that some developers are thinking too much in the short term and not long term gains. sure they made a cool 50 million or whatever from microsoft on the dlc. if they sold it on ps3, they would have made the same amount, they would have pleased everyone, and wouldn't have lost so many fans.
i personally won't stop being a fan as i love fallout. however, i don't want to buy a 360 just to play some dlc's that i could easily by on the psn if they were there.

Um, these companies do a cost-benefit analysis on this kind of stuff. If Bethesda DID accept a deal to keep the DLC exclusive to the 360, they were paid more than they thought they'd make selling the DLC on the PS3. And I'm quite sure they estimated the number of PS3 owners that would buy the game (and what percentage of those people would buy the DLC) rather than just pulling a number out of the air. Decisions likes these aren't made on whims.

If the PS3 had sold better, maybe this wouldn't be a 360 exclusive.

I think that's true, which is why when I was getting close to the end, I left a few missions so that I when I come back to the game (with this Broken Steel DLC), I'll have more stuff to do...

Everyone gets shafted sometime, PS3 owners get shafted by not getting the DLC, Xbox owners get shafted when they pay for DLC, (maybe the developers can give us all a complete game, hows that for a radical suggestion), PC owners get shafted by the cost of a decent gaming PC. The world sucks guys and girls, get used to it cos its only gonna get worse. The next will be games that are sold chapter by chapter and I do believe they are already in production and they will probably cost at least a third more than they do now. Don't hate each other, hate the companies that are doing this to us even if we do still have to buy their stuff.

the ps3 is selling well. its actually higher on the amazon list than the 360. the ps3 is on the top 100 of amazon in videogames overall.

i know the 360 has sold more, but it had a headstart. its not a bad system, i don't think that at all. it may break a lot, but thats not the point.

heres a break down:

(all curent stats)
17.26 million 360 owners -> 1.51 million fallout3 bought = 8.7%
8.47 million ps3 ownder -> 650, 000 fallout3 bought = 7.6%

if 75% who bought f3 bought 1 dlc on 360 @ $10 a pop that = $11,325,000
if 75% who bought f3 bought 1 dlc on ps3 @ $10 a pop that = $4,875,000

I'm assuming microsoft paid at least 5 million for each dlc. if bethesda
released all 3 packs for both systems they could make at most 48,600,000 dollars.

At a 50% percent purchase of all 3 dlc rate they could make 24,300,000 dollars.
At a 25% percent purchase of all 3 dlc rate they could make 12,150,000 dollars.

I wish they would release how much Microsoft paid for the dlc. I would then stop bitching
if the number so greatly exceeded what they could make by releasing it multiplatform.
Looking at the numbers, the ps3 technically had a higher buy rate, therefore greediness
took over and the ps3 got the shaft.

Wow guys I have both a PS3 and a 360 and I love both systems. But it's obvious that fans of both systems complain equally. 360 has complainers and PS3 has complainers. No more no less than eachother. So stop ranging about which fans are worse because they are both the same.
