I'm in.... I really wanted this for the PS3 (for the graphics and DLC), but the MotionPlus should make it a fair bit more fun and challenging.

Can't wait.

Sweet! This is perfect, since I've got two controllers -- I'll get Wii Sports Resort and Tiger Woods with the bundles, and can wait to see whether Grand Slam Tennis or Virtua Tennis is the better game.

Between these, Punch Out, and The Conduit, it's a good thing I start my new job in a couple of weeks...

My money's on Virtua Tennis because they have really nailed so many of the crucial elements to making a good tennis game (giving you a good advantage for getting to the ball early by giving you a strong shot that lets you hit a winner or get control over the rally to win within a couple more shots instead of constant really long unrealistic rallies like some games; forcing you to either play baseline or net rather than the middle no-man's land area which lots of tennis games let you do; fun but still realistic enough; mixing things up with player challenges, mini games etc. instead of just straight match after match like Top Spin 3; really strong strategy worked into the game so that you are thinking a few shots ahead like real tennis and not just thinking about the next shot; practical net-play unlike most games where net play is impossible).

It's unlikely EA will be able to nail all of these things on the first try and just missing a couple can ruin a tennis game.

JC, I'm a little teed off that you mention the EAGLE code, and then really bogey by not taking full opportunity with all the punabilities. I'd just like to drive that home, really that's just par for the course with you. I mean if you'd been wearing your golfer's socks I think you would've been able to seize the moment, yknow, they're the pair with a hole in one. You really missed the fairway. Don't make any excuses either, you'll just get trapped in one bad lie after another.

No no no. He just got bit in the dick by a cat. You just can't see the cat because that logo is covering up his crotch.

He may also be pulling leeches from his neck.

Wow! I can't believe they aren't tying down the release to coincide with Wii Sports to guarantee high sales. This should have a positive outcome for EA, and a negative one for Wii Sports. Bottom line, either way it's a win for Nintendo. This looks awesome.

As for the box art...

I just hope that the controls work really well and simulate real golf. Tiger Woods '09 was the biggest disappointment of a game I have ever had.

The graphics were terrible, almost PS1 quality other than the character models. The controls could have made up for that but they were even worse than the graphics.

Unless the MotionPlus controls are really good you are far better off getting the game on the PS3 or 360 for the far better graphics and online play.

To EA's credit the screenshots of '10 do look a lot better. At least the trees have some depth. I just hope the backgrounds have textures rather than a plain polygon with no lighting.

Almost PS1 quality? Go fire up a PS1 game and then come back, it's obviously been a while. Bad graphics, yes. PS1 level of graphics, no.

And still no mention of online play :( I know several people into their golf and have Wii's, but we can't play together because EA can't be bothered to offer Internet play. It's not like they've got to worry about lag!

Last years (9) has Internet play? I'm kind of confused, I expect this year will have the same set-up that was critically acclaimed (you can take shots simultaneously instead of waiting).

Ahh, didn't realise 09 had it - I've never seen a box here in the UK with the Internet logo that other games such as Mario Kart has. Hopefully 2010 will have it too, and the Motion+ Gadget thingy will make it a great game for play at home fun.

Uh...look at the boxart again.
Look in the top right corner.
You see that Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Pay & Play logo?
Yea...that means it'll have online play and some DLC.

Do I notice a Wi-Fi DLC logo in the upper-left corner (the orange logo)? Does anyone know of any online content for TW10 on the Wii? That orange logo signifies when pay content is available...doesn't it?

Kind of like how GHWT and Rock Band 2 are P&P titles, this game will have some sort of DLC that you can purchase with Wii points.
