The demand for a downloadable release of Marvel vs Capcom 2 is high; we don't need to tell you that. When the game was rated by the ESRB, we found ourselves as giddy as a Sentinel hunting down rogue mutants. Don't even get us started on a possible teaser site for the game: tu4ar.com.
The domain appears to be a reference to the catchy character select song "Take You for a Ride," and further inspection of the site reveals a giant "2" (in the background of the countdown clock), which is similar in font to the Marvel vs Capcom 2 logo. The teaser countdown appears to imply that in 6 days the site will evolve into a real web site, complete with stuff to click and actual content. (Presumably, this countdown could coincide with a press embargo being established at CAPTIVATE09 this week.)
That's not all, though. There are two telling domains that are connected to the URL in question: http://dev02.capcomusa.net/ and http://dev02.capcomusa.net/mvc2gmt/. If you click the latter link, the same teaser from tu4ar.com shows up. Oh, and a Capcom Unity tweet and recent auction offer further evidence as to the creator of tu4ar.com.
Still, it's important to remain skeptical. All of this evidence -- compelling as it may be -- is by no means official confirmation. We'll update just as soon as the countdown expires and Capcom announces ... well, whatever it's going to announce.

MvC2 is fun but I like CvS2 because of all the different grooves that changes the style of play. It just seems more serious.

If this is a straight up port.. that would be pretty redundant
this game has been played to death for the last decade
there needs to be at least some new content not including achievements
let this be refreshing

I didn't believe it would ever happen, at least not on this generation of consoles. I'll probably shed a tear out of joy the day this is released.

The Dreamcast version will always be better. I still play it...

If the XBLA/PSN release is based off the Naomi board (DC) version yet also includes online play - it is inherently better than the DC one.
I'll still hold a fondness in my heart for getting on capcom.co.jp with the DC browser to download the VMS file to unlock all of the characters though.

Is this possible? You'd think Activision would have their hands in it, or else prevent it from occurring.
Or does that merely apply to the impossibility of a Marvel Vs Capcom 3.

Achievement/Trophy Unlocked: Goin' for a ride
How to Unlock: Sit in the character select screen for 30 minutes
now that'd be a hilarious achievement.

I would be happy if they just add a "scanline" option in the video settings. It seems to work well IMO on PC emulators.

PS3 version since you can use the Saturn USB Pads. They work great with SF4.

I hope it gets released on the PSN and LIVE. I seriously hate the 360 controller for fighting games.

While I'm very excited by this because I never really had a chance to play Marvel vs Capcom 2 much when it first came out, I'm also a bit worried. The amount of demand there is for this game could jack up the price quite a bit. I'd predict that we're looking at a minimum 1200 - 1600 points (15 - 20 bucks) for this game.
The price might be justified if it's more than a straight port (i.e. update the graphics, add more fighters, etc). However, if it is a straight port, I hope that consumers demand a more reasonable price of 800 points (10 bucks) by not buying it if it's over that price point.
Or Capcom could show us some love and give it to us for a great bargain of 400 points ($5) - since we've all spent money buying collectors editions of Street Fighter 4 and Resident Evil 5 (I know i did!)

HD remix makes no sense...The game is already good enough graphically, and is still played religiously through out the world in competitions. There is only TWO things this countdown could mean...The release of a downloadable MVC2...Or... I'm hoping that the "2" changes to a 3 on the website :::)))
