Buy 2 1600s, get 10 free dollars, buy 800 with the 2 $5, then you get 4000 for 40 bucks. Better yet cause it wouldn't require a future purchase. I guess I prefer savings now rather than later.

I got a 4000 points card at Circuit City before they went out of business, and it lasted me like 3 months, so it's good if you are just buying anything on Live.

I guess you can only do it once. I was hoping to buy 2 1600 pt cards like Flex said but I don't think it would work that way. I bought a 1600 one so I'll give it a try again after I receive my $5 credit.

Gah, I just bought 2000 points this weekend at Best Buy. As long as this deal is good til the end of June though, that's cool since I'm sure I'll need more by then.

The offer isn't, the bonus points are.

The offer is only good until 5/2 (from the Amazon page):
Offer valid from 12:00 AM Pacific Time on 04/22/09 to 11:59 PM Pacific Time on 05/02/09.

I'm no mathematician but 2x 1600 = 3200 for $10 over your 4000?

Apparently you don't read either: only one bonus offer per household.

So you can buy 2x1600 cards, but you're only getting $5 for it.

Oh it's nothing special, just know how to barter and wheel and deal with people. It isn't illegal and no, I didn't run and steal a bunch of point cards (besides you can't, those aren't activated until you buy them at the register anyways). But if you know how to make deals, then things just happen. I had 19,500 points, but I don't use them enough so I just finally downloaded Peggle and some DLC for other games, and now I am getting low at just over 15,000 points. :-)

Suppose it doesn't have anything to do with the sudden influx of 100 rank GOW2 players . . . would it?

Nope Powa, I didn't spend a dime, didn't break any laws either. You just need to know how to work the system.

Not sure what that means, but nope, I haven't even had time to play GOW2 yet, I am quite backlogged in my games.
