Kojima gauging gamer interest in new Zone of the Enders

Six years after the release of the last console game in the series, Hideo Kojima is talking Zone of the Enders. Specifically, the Kojima Productions founder (and creator of a little series called Metal Gear) asks if gamers are really interested in a Zone of the Enders 3 during a new episode of MGS4's in-game "Integral" podcast.
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner -- the, well, second game in the series -- was directed by MGS4 co-writer and director, Shuyo Murata, and remains a fan favorite in addition to a critical success; we're surprised it's taken Kojima this long to broach the topic of a sequel. In closing out a discussion about the demand for a follow-up, Kojima and his podcasting partners ask gamers to email them if they'd be interested in seeing it happen.

The first game was just titles Zone Of The Enders and it was also on the PS2.

Zone of the Enders was a PS2 game that came out a few months before MGS2, back in 2001. the sequel, ZOE: 2nd Runner, came out for the PS2 about 2 years later.

Most people bought the first one for the MGS2 demo. The second runner remains one of my favourite games of all time. ZOE3 would be amazing.

I'm asking this seriously and not critically. Did you play any of the ZOE games? If you haven't then grab a copy and play them (ZOE 2 discs are hard to find and/or more expensive than usual because of the demand, but you can get ZOE 1 for a few bucks at Gamestop).
2nd Runner is probably the best mech action game ever created and one of the best action games of all time. If you ever played a Gundam (or any other mech game for that matter) game then you have no idea how well these games handle. Everything that you ever watched in an anime show that hoped to have someday in a game (and be able to control it) is in the series. It is just awesome.
On a different note, I just hope that kojima makes a ZOE 3, that he keeps the 2D cut scenes, and that Dingo is back. Once this game is done I'd love a remake of Xenogears for PS3.... I'm looking at you Square.

If you're talking about the way Gundams are SUPPOSED to be able to move, then... Sorta, but not really. Kojima tells the story the way he usually does, but the story itself is reaaally different.

You know what, that would be a great idea.
It would work very well on the PSP. And it would help them gauge interest while earning profits for the new ZOE3 for PS3.
Not to mention they could pump out a PSP version a lot quicker as well...

Never played the first two since I never actually found them in stores, HOWEVER since I know Kojma makes incredibly fantastic games and I'm a MGS fan, I'll be paying attention to this one.

Sent an email. My only fear is that it'll be another PS3-exclusive. I guess I've got a few years to get one if this game goes into development, and so far I'm doing alright STILL waiting for an opportunity to play MGS4... But, do want!

Buy the second one, second one has a 7 minute video that sums up everything important in the first game... and the second game is so much better. First game I thought was crap and actually returned it, rebought it after an awesome sequel though.

I e-mailed them my response. I want them to make this game, seriously. But I'd be way more excited for a PS3 version of ZOE. Konami should make a PSP version, if they can, but I'd love for them to bring it to PS3.
Anyways, I hope tons of people message them so they can get started on creating the game. I can't wait!

It would be SOOOOO awful for the game to have a greater audience. I mean, it's not like increased sales over multiple consoles would help sequels. And I for one know that I would enjoy the game FAR less if people with a different console also had that game.

Haha, thanks for the back up guys. I guess it's wrong in some peoples eyes for a huge ZOE2 fan to hope 3 makes it on the console he has this time around. I think KojiPro are competent enough devs to make ZOE3 great for both 360 and PS3 ; )
