That was my exact opinion of ZOE1, glad ZOE2 was strong enough a title to be it's own game...

In all honesty though, something like that may be the only way to get people really interested in a ZOE game.

I think I just nerdgasmed a bit in my jeans...
a new Zone of the Enders would be amazing, 360 or PS3, I'd eat it up, and feel so happy and gracious I'd date an ugly chick...

yay and nay

yay- after mgs4, only lord knows what kind of set pieces these guys can deliver. omg the possibilities are endless.

nay- HATED the combat in ZOE. mechs should play liek mechs- ala lost planet and mgs4 battle of the gears(HOW FUGGIN AWESOME WAS THAT SCENE!?!?!). those two references make zoe1/2's gameplay seem lame in comparison. way too light and feathery, there was absolutely no weight to the bots.

even still, i have high hopes that they can deliver with awesome production values.

and some robot weight. and some color.

I disagree, the fast paced combat is why ZOE was awesome, There are a billion slow moving boring as hell mech games, I'd ditch the series if they did that to ZOE

What!? Yes, the mech part in MGS4 was awesome and felt really heavy, just like how Metal Gear Should be, because the metal gears are in fact xbox huge battle tanks....but the reason most people bought ZOE was for the fast paced action/battle....when i saw the trailer for the first ZOE i came in my pants because it looked so damn cool and fast paced. and ZOE2 was even more awesome in that aspect.

Yeah lost planet and the metal gear fights are fights between ground walking hulking tanks. Jehuty is an orbitial Frame. it wouldnt have the armor that a metal gear would and is not made to take direct hits. Mobility is its best offense and defense. You can keep your slow lumbering realistic tanks, give me Zero Shift anyday.

Zone of the Enders changed mecha actions titles forever. ZOE2 really sped things up and removed quite a bit of the bad/boring parts of the first title. I really appreciated the the graphical style which tied realistic graphics with toon-shaded effects. The bosses and their levels were also were far more interesting than the first game. Can anyone say VECTOR CANON? The weapons were great. I really wish the gave them more significance.

I would expect ZOE 3 to raise the bar even further. The creators can take in the good parts of the series and fan reactions to really give the series its due. I believe most people don't really like or think giant mech games are campy/cheesy. Here's hoping ZOE 3 comes out!

Man, I would love to see this game, i played both of them and I loved every part of those games, actually those are the only ones about mechs that I love, and if there could exist the posibility of a CE where they include ZOE and ZOE: 2nd runner, well, I'm sold, Now I won't be able to sleep :S

ZOE2 had a reprint in '06 or so, which is when I first played it. Great game, enjoyed the Front Mission-esque GBA game as well. I'd love a third entry!

Nope, I didn't know there was a GBA version of the game though lol

The 2nd game easily trumps the first though, I'll say that. The final bossfight alone is worth probably 20-30 bucks... :D

Easily one of the most beautifully crafted games of last gen... I absolutely loved The 2nd Runner from its fast and furious gameplay to its pseudo-cel shading. Loved it. It was also everything a sequel should be. Bigger. Better. Epic.

I've been wanting a ZoE3 for years and, though not a requirement to get more Jehuty (and Dingo, one of the best, most bad ass main characters around), I'd love to see online battles on the same scale as the battle at the Aumaan Crevasse.

I only played The 2nd Runner, but I loved every single part of it. I particularly liked the fact that you could move the cockpit during the cutscenes, as it greatly improved immersion in the game. And the boss fights were so epic, but so so epic! Aw, great memories..

On a side note, while playing MGS4, when I noticed that Otacon had a wallpaper of Dingo as his desktop, I took it as a harbinger of ZOE3 coming so I went nuts! It seems I was right!

I'm not into Mech games. I'm sure ZOE is awesome for those who are. I haven't tried either of them.

I'd rather see Kojima continuing to work on the Metal Gear series in some form or another.

Dingo and his ..... Pals!

It just wouldn't be the same without it! Or Leo in his Vic Viper.

Except Vic Viper is never going to need help, ever! You insult me, sir!

I don't know though. Most games nowadays are going for multiplayer coop, and I feel like it might not be a necessarily a good trend.

I dont know how many conversations I've had with friends about how awesome the ZoE games are and how much we would squeel if a new one came out for the current gen. I really, REALLY hope this becomes a reality and not to sound like a whiney baby but please make it multiplatform, im tired of exclusives forcing me to buy every system ever made.

For those who've never played the first 2 I have this advice: FIND THEM NAO! ZoE2 is, in fact, the best action game you will ever play. Ever.

I honestly didn't even attempt to play Z.O.E. for more than like, 10 minutes, when I first got the game. The main character seemed really whiny and I just wasn't feeling it. Like many people, it was a means to an end, to get that MGS2 demo. But, like, 2 years later, my boyfriend at the time was really bugging me to give it another shot and I'm glad I did. Not too long after I was on a hunt to find The 2nd Runner, used, at GameStop. I like that one a lot more (for the last level alone), but they're both amazing games. Dang, I hope this happens...and of course, on the PS3.

For those of you who haven't played this game, it is really the most awesome game ever created. Literally though, as someone said above, anything you ever hoped to do with a mech, including kill random civilians, is in this game. The main robot, Jehuty, probably has around 30 or so "subweapons" which let you fire everything from missles to lasers to stun blasts to HUGE cannon blasts. RIDICULOUS. PLEASE MAKE Z.O.E. 3, it would actually get me back into gaming.
