In its financial report, retailer GAME included Gfk Chart-Track data detailing the life-to-date UK sales for all current consoles. For the most part, they look like North American sales numbers, just ... smaller. But no less relevant to the ongoing console wars.Wii is in the lead among home consoles, of course, with 4.9 million units sold. The Xbox 360 is at 3.2 million, and the PlayStation 3 has sold 1.9 million units. The PS2 has sold 10 million in its eight-and-a-half year lifespan. In handhelds, the DS leads with 8.8 million sold, with the PSP at 3.2 million.
The report also contains data for other European countries. According to Edge, the data across Europe reflects the same trends found in the UK, except in the race to second place: the PS3's combined LTD sales reportedly exceed the 360's by 300,000 units.
