Hot on the heels of moving into the Xbox Live Arcade market, online retailer Amazon has started offering Wiiware games for purchase, as spotted by a savvy shopper on NeoGAF. The first one spotted in the wild is 2D Boy's puzzler World of Goo.
Though discounts were a big selling point for the XBLA portion of Amazon's e-storefront, this first offering is at the full $15 price tag. Here's hoping that's not the case for all Wii releases. This isn't how we want to buy our games, but we could definitely be lured in by the prospect of saving a few bucks.
Update: Just like with the XBLA codes, there are no plans to sell WiiWare codes through Amazon's UK branch, reports CasualGaming.biz.

Much better than buying point codes and being left with unused points, which is due to obnoxious pricing of Wii shop content.

Patapon 2 would like to have a word with you.
On topic, this seems pretty pointless. You can get Wii Points cards below MSRP-- I stocked up on quite a few back when TRU had them %40 off, and now they're having another %25 sale next week. If I were to buy World of Goo, it would cost $9, not $15. If it's going to be the exact same cost, and you have to buy it online, you're using the exact same credit card info and so on. The only benefit is you don't have left over points. If it's going to be more expensive, it's absolutely not worth it.

Hmmm... Wonder if these work in Canada? Of course, there will have to be a pretty good discount to make up for the exchange rate these days... :(

I have mine memorized too. but thats not the point. I dont have a KEYBOARD attached to my Wii like I do my PS3. Which means I have to sit there and point at each letter to fill in my address and I dont have a SMALL address...its annoying

One of the somewhat recent updates added something to the shop channel where you can redeem codes for games. I think it was around the release of World of Goo.

Awesome, as my gift cards roll in from my Amazon Visa, it'll give me an excuse to catch up on all the Wiiware and XBLA games I missed.

I think the shop has a gifting system, so maybe you give them the console number and they gift you the game
