You should also check out a second, more behind-the-scenes video after the break, if only to hear Eskil say "So, now I'm going to be showing you some of the tools I've been using for making Love."
You have to watch this Love gameplay footage

I wonder if there'd be continued support for this game so that the developers could still be making Love.
Just kidding, but at least Love isn't a game where I'd mind a grindfest!

And then those weird old Japanese guys can turn up at his door and say "Wii would like... love." and hold out their wiimote.
You know what? Scrap that idea.

Yeah, the movie is slowwwwwwwwwwww loading, I'm all for high quality but if it takes an hour to load a gameplay demo it's time to start thinking about putting it on youtube.

Looks like is gonna be a good game, the graphics are bad but the game looks fun to play.

Looks like they need mirrors to the video. Any chance Joystiq could host the video?

Meh...I think it'd be very cool to see what creative types do with the environment, but I don't see anything that I'd personally enjoy playing - I'm just not artistic or have any kind of architectural skill.
Mind you, I only made it about halfway through the video because I got bored. I'd hope there's more to the game than just building and running around.

It's great. No paying for dinner, so cuddling, no talking. I recommend it.

The video is taking forever to download (3%, 3 hrs remaining); I wish Eskil had just thrown it up on youtube.

Oh, good, so I wasn't alone when I tried watching it earlier. Half an hour of buffering and I barely made it 15 seconds in.

I appologize for the slow download. If anyone wants to spread the video to sites like You tube please do so. You can find links to the mp4 files directly at: http://www.quelsolaar.com/love/video.html Oh and thanks for all the nice words. I will try to answer as many questions as i can on the blog news.quelsolaar.com

Have you considered putting your videos on gametrailers or gamevideos? That would probably solve most of the hosting problems. Rapidshare or Megaupload would be another decent (if not ideal) solution, if you didn't want to degrade the quality of the video by putting it on a streaming site. Or you could start a torrent with your videos, and let all of us handle the bandwidth. Either way, I've been downloading the 100mb demo for the past half hour at 40kbps, and there has got to be a better way :P
What you've managed to create by yourself is incredible. I can't wait for a chance to play.

If I were you I'd use vimeo to host these. You can even join the game developers group to get some free exposure =D (http://www.vimeo.com/groups/gamedevelopers)

I saw this game on the Co-op podcast, and I fell in....wait for it....like with it. I'd do anything for a beta.....ANYTHING....even dirty, filthy things that I'd be ashamed of for months.

This reminds me a little bit of a 1st person, mediumly-multiplayer Darwinia. It has similarly abstract, simple graphics.
As cool as it looks, I fear the enemies will seem forced into the gameplay. This kind of game looks like the exploration and building would be the most interesting parts, with the combat and strategy being necessary evils.

1. Proximity Sensors send a message to a specific frequency repeatedly.
2. Chat has its own frequency, and messages can be sent to other players.
If 1 and 2 are true, I predict spamming, spamming, and more spamming... just by standing on top of a Proximity Sensor.

Well, it's not exactly like that, because EVERY frequency has chat. If somebody is spamming in chat, just move to a new frequency. I believe you can watch multiple frequencies as well so you could have a private frequency, as long as no one figures it out.

That makes sense. That also means you could figure out how to trigger enemy bombs... nice.

But at the same time, when everyone decides to move to a new frequency they have to decide on that frequency and make it known to all. That means the spammer can change with them.

I really like the idea of cooperative gaming on such a large scale, especially when the opponent is constantly changing. After investing a significant amount of time with a group every player is bound to have interesting personal stories they have accumulated. Dedicated communities could generate some really rich content around the game events. Exciting stuff to say the least.
As chispito mentioned, I don't know if I would be interested at all in combat. It seems like there are much more significant tasks to be completed and if I wanted first-person combat I would look somewhere else first. My least favourite part of this idea though is the graphics. I like games that try for creative new art styles, but most of the media I have seen suffers from clarity issues. Maybe I just need to experience the game at enormous resolutions on a large monitor and it will be just fine. If that doesn't help, I am not a fan of sacrificing playability just for the art style.

looks boner inspiring, however I do have one issue: from the looks of the video, it seems like you are completely defenseless at night? or will there be other defenses that are based on "moonpower," etc?

It's LittleBigMMO!! It's awesome, but I hope they would increase the maximum player limit higher than 200 players.
Maybe they could have regions where each region is its own server. Then players could go from region to region (maybe with a loading screen) and see the world on other servers. It would make it a lot more seamless that way.

The video took a bit for me as well but it was worth it. This looks really cool but I'm into designing things to start with. Never heard of this before today.
