Hmm, I read the source article, joystiq's article and read the banner in home. I didn't see the word 'Free' listed. Where'd you get this pricing information from?

I find it odd that Sony ala Playstation who "doesn't pay for exclusives"(Source: Interviews with Sony execs, Sony PR) for this exclusive content for its system...without paying for it. I think Sony is starting to get serious with this console war and actually paying for exclusives which is a good start.

@Dreadnaught

I think he said a big game. Bioshock coming nine months late to the Playstation 3 after 80% of gamers had played the hell out of it on PC, xbox 360 or a friend's xbox 360/pc was not as 'big' of a title as you may think.

Now, Bioshock 2 that's going to be released at the same time on all three systems would be a great game to get exclusive DLC for. If DLC even works at all.

If anything, we've learned that exclusive dlc doesn't shift the scale much in either parties favor. How many many masses bought GTAIV for the PS3 who owned by an xbox 360 and ps3 not knowing they were missing out on the exclusive Lost and the Damned GTAIV content and the future Lost and the Damned GTAIV content?

Really, the majority of the users who were informed where those were big box store/gamestop employees give a care and know stuff(1 in 500) and those who fall under hardcore gamers enough to read reviews in advance, articles on gaming and websites like kotaku/engadget/joystiq/ign

As long as we're criticizing grammar, let's throw in punctuation. "Don't" has an apostrophe in it. You also forgot to use a period at the end of your sentence. And you failed capitalization.

Now I'm gonna go print up some t-shirts that read "I killed Batman with grammar and punctuation".

Oh, also the fact that no one these days adds extra content to the disc as DLC is easier to produce.
Should of added that...

@F1

Why is DLC easier to produce? Seems that if the game hasn't gone gold yet, it would be easier to simply include extra content on the original disk than to have it separately downloaded and programmed to integrate itself with the disk content.

This puzzles me. Especially with the PS3 version being on a blu-ray disk. There's plenty of room. What could be the reasoning behind using DLC?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see anywhere on the ad that states it being DLC. Could be that the PS3 version of the game just contains exclusive content that the 360 may or may not have.

Ah I see.

Took me awhile to navigate IGN's site to find it, but I see I was corrected. It should be noted that the ad could be a little misleading to some people, but then again it's a simple download, so the only people that should complain are people without internet access, but happen to own a PS3.

So is this Sony going back on their claim of not paying for exclusive content or Eidos attempting to boost the PS3 versions sales, the same way THQ did with Smackdown? In which case, I imagine the 360 will be getting its own exclusive content.

It's possible, there is a chance that Eidos is giving the PS3 exclusive content for free advertising on Homes. Then there is the Sony deal with DC for the DC Universe MMO which might give them rights to exclusives?
