Home ad reveals Joker DLC for Batman: Arkham Asylum on PS3 [update]

There's a very peculiar ad in PlayStation Home right now. As you can see above, it would appear the PS3 is on the receiving end of Joker's brand of funny, as several billboards sprinkled throughout Home advertise "Exclusive Joker challenge maps" for the PS3 version of Batman: Arkham Asylum. We decided to hop on Home ourselves and snapped the pic you see above.

We've contacted Eidos for clarification and will update as soon as we've heard back. Oh, and if you're scratching your head at the concept of "challenge maps," then you didn't read about our time with the game back at GDC09. For shame. We're dialing your mother right now.

Actually I have the PS3 collectors edition ordered. Mainly because it's so much cheaper, but it's definitely the version I would have picked now, thanks to this content.

I just don't believe it will be 100% exclusive, I see this being more like Soulcalibur IV or Smackdown.

I hope we get Adam West as Batman challenge maps.

I'm happy I have PS3. Unless Two-Face is announced as 360 exclusive, then I'll have to buy a 360.

Wonder if they are getting this from Free or Discounted Advertising inside of Home....I Clearly remember Sony heads saying something about putting money into first party projects instead of paying for 3rd party exclusives....

360 owners, Why so serious?

No sh!t. The Xbox owners get exclusive Fallout 3, GTA4, Tomb Raider DLC and when we finally get something without having to write checks for it, they call of the wambulance. You should see them cry all over Kotaku and N4G.

Can anyone imagine what is going to happen at E3!?

PS3 owners are still allowed to whine though right? Since when does not having to pay for exclusive content count as a good thing? It's anti-competitive for developers to support a platform more for no good reason. Also, if Sony made a deal for the content in exchange for free advertising in Home, then they did pay for it, though not in a rudimentary enough way for PS3 people to admit it.

I hope your Draconian PR are reading this Eidos, cause you just lost yourself a sale. No Joker challenge rooms for my 360 = no sale. Also, no sale on principle.

Also, congratulations to Sony!!! Because loads of 360 owners are going to go buy a 360 in order to get this. They'll be like "OMG I so want those extra rooms!!! Take my £300 NAO!!!

I wonder if non psn games like this dlc can use the discount sony gives to exclusive psn games. That could explain why this is exclusive.

I happy that the actors of one of my favorite cartoon series are doing the voice work, that alone will make this game epic even thought I have not seen the gameplay yet.:)

It would be funny if it was like Soul Caliber 4, and you got to play Harley Quinn on the Xbox at launch, they they came back and sold each console the opposite as paid DLC later...

It's likely that they are going to later announce SOME sort of 'exclusive' for the 360 as well since it is a cross-platform title. Most studios nowadays would not clearly preference one console while shipping on both as it kind of alienates the other player base.

You should maybe explain that to Rockstar and Valve.

SourceJR I think Tomb Raider Underworld said hi also but I guess is not important, It's just incredible that all the DLC exclusives this generation have been for the 360 so far and when the PS3 finally gets one just 1 tiny dlc people can't take it.

I for one am perfectly fine if it's an exclusive DLC for PS3. Just saying that it's an odd business choice (if it is one) to preference one console when you originally set out to ship on both.

For larger DLC I could understand since it'd likely take more resources to convert it between the two - I have to imagine this is likely the common cause with some of the games mentioned.

But for extra players and what not? Should likely be both assuming the studio intends to be cross-platform from the outset. Soulcalibur4 being one example.

Hey, not nice at all.

Just give us 360 owners some playable Bane DLC and this whole Joker thing won't mean nothing. A challenge map where we try to break as many backs in X amount of time would be a plus.

I would trade Eidos the Tomb Raider DLC for this any day.

Well, I'm glad this is coming for the PS3 owners but I'm a 360 man and will have to make do without playing as the joker. :(

If anyone is still bothering to read this page.. 360 World confirmed it's a part of the 360's DLC pack, which they'll be covering next month.
