Report: Activision putting Radical to work on Spider-Man, High Moon on Transformers
It's true! Ultra publisher Activision Blizzard is planning to release more games based on the lucrative Transformers and Spider-Man franchises. According to The Cut Scene's Ben Fritz, the powerhouse has already chosen which of its owned developers will sit next to the conveyor belt for upcoming (and currently unannounced) titles.
Fritz and his sources suggest that High Moon Studios, developer of last year's The Bourne ConspiraQTE, will deliver a new Transformers game in 2010. Activision likely hopes to turn the robots in disguise into an annual franchise, even without an accompanying film for fans to despise. Likewise, with a Spider-Man 4 film nowhere in sight (we'll ask Spider-Man 3's CSI butler to get on the case), you can expect to see a new, unattached arachnid adventure crawling out of Radical Entertainment -- currently finishing the superheroic Prototype -- sometime in the future.
Things you're unlikely to see sometime in the future: giant robots and agile superheroes losing their appeal.

Prototype could share a lot of similarities with a cool Spiderman game, seems like a good fit.
NaeemTHM @ Apr 23rd 2009 11:45AM
Indeed. We already know they can do a superhero game justice (Hulk: UD)
Zertoss @ Apr 23rd 2009 11:48AM
I wouldn't mind seeing more of Web of Shadows.

Is it too much to ask for a Shia LaBOOF death simulator?
The entire game would revolve around killing Shia LaBeowulf. Drop him off a cliff, hit him with a car, put him in a fridge and nuke it...it's all up to you the player!

I would really like to see another Ultimate Spider-Man game. I think the first one was probably the best Spidey game made.

Seriously, if someone would just, ya know, actually use the millions of stories used in the comics, they could make numerous Spiderman games that wouldn't suck or feel like a rehash.
I'm just dreaming, of course...

I miss the days when you'd only see one company name on a game. In my day we had a little Ultra Games logo at the top of the screen, then it said METAL GEAR or had the goddamn Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles logo under it, and we LIKED it that way.
CLASS.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing a Transformers game that isn't bogged down by a shitty movie storyline. If they make a game that's based on the classic 80's Transformers, I'm in.

Actually Spider man 4 is gearing up. Not sure how it's nowhere in sight while there writing it and working on the cast. And it's been confirmed by the director. ;)
As for Transformers as long as it's a real action game sure, why not but I kind of dig that idea of the Shia death machine NaeemTHM talked about =)
How about a Transformers vs. Voltron vs. Godzilla, vs. Go Bots (Yes I said it) vs Chuck Norris. Now that would be a f-ed up multi player experience =)
The Dark Wayne @ Apr 23rd 2009 6:39PM
Oh man, I would love to see a Spider-Man from the guys who made Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruciton. Best comic book game I ever played

"Activision likely hopes to turn the robots in disguise into an annual franchise, even without an accompanying film for fans to despise."
Micheal Bay actually admitted in a Wired interview they let the pentagon give "feedback" on the script for the movie because they saw it as a recruitment opportunity in exchange for the use free military stuff for the film . What an f-ing sell out.
Thank you Ludwig for not kissing Bay/Speilberg ass.
