A rumor posted over at Destructoid points to a new Clone Wars game in the works for Xbox 360 and PS3. Titled Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes, the game is described as a third-person action title featuring two-player co-op, with separate "Jedi" and "Clone" storylines featuring Anakin Skywalker and Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano, respectively.
The game's focus is supposedly on melee combat, with mention of some form of upgrades available throughout the game. Jedi characters will purportedly have some access to Force powers (gasp!), such as the ability to control droids (Dtoid's post mentions rolling Droideka).
Krome Studios has had plenty of experience with the Star Wars franchise. The company handled porting Star Wars: The Force Unleashed to the Wii, PS2, and PSP, and was responsible for the Wii-exclusive Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels. Let's hope the third time's the charm here.

Star Wars fan here too, but I'm pretending that Clone Wars movie was never made. Why can't they just make a good multi-player/co-op Star Wars game that's not based on this crap?
The Force Unleashed would have sold so much better if they had included some form of co-op or multiplayer.
Time for a new Jedi Knight game, anyone?

The movie was crap. The series is actually very entertaining and well written. I hope this is based more on the series than the movie.

Third Star Wars fan here. I always question why the New Sith Wars era is so undertapped. You can do practically anything you want in that era. I mean, 1000 years of war between Sith and Jedi, come on! Short of destroying major planets you have unlimited freedom.

I'm just hoping we get a sequel so there can be 3 colons in one title. Hopefully something like Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes: Clones Attack!

1,000 Star Wars fan here. I think that the clone wars tv show is very well done. I like the episodes with more mature content, but its a cartoon what can you expect. The Movie was pretty lame, more of just a giant marketing machine to help bring a new generation into star wars which is fine with me.
Much like the show, I doubt this will be geared toward me. Just get me a new KOTOR and I will be fine.

If this is a decent game then I will pick up. I hated the movie but the series is one of my top 3 favorite series on tv at the moment. Really surprised me.

Fans support their object of affection. But would you still support it if the developers are making the game to get $60 out of you when the game probably won't deserve it?

KOTOR says hello cactus man, and then it knocks you over so coyotes can feast on you, then once that's done Repbulic Commando takes the remains to a compost factory so you turn into a bunch of hippie gardens

and then Kyle Katarn sets every garden you are a part of on fire, and the houses whose property the garden lay on is blown up by a TIE Fighter being chased by a Rogue Squadron pilot

Shame The Force Unleashed flopped like it did. I did enjoy my runs on the Wii version of the game. My wrist hurted like a bitch and i couldn't play much after that weekend i played the game, but i enjoyed the game a lot.
As for this, i had been seeing the clone wars story and i'm not liking it that much. But then again, if they can milk more this story, then good for old Lucas

In what Universe do you live where Force Unleashed "flopped"? That shit topped 1 million units in 5 days.

Well you're obviously lying or read an extremely incredible source, because no developer EVER would say that flopped. Ever. Ever. Period.
Just google "force unleashed sales". Do it.

There's a difference between developers who are down because blogs, gamers, or critics say their game was bad and developers who said the game flopped.
I enjoyed Force Unleashed on the Wii and thought the story was pretty good, but the game wasn't what it could have been (on any of the platforms). And the duel mode left a lot to be desired.
But I'm not sure about the "third time's the charm comment." I think that's too harsh for Force Unleashed, yet that Clone Wars Wii-only game was awful. Maybe they've had time to learn.

Yes you did: "i heard around there that developers weren't too happy with the outcome of the game on sales and reviews"
In any case, Force Unleashed could have been better, but sold very well regardless.

Star Wars fan here too. For some reason though, I could see this as being more kid-oriented and similar to Spiderman: Friend or Foe. I'm a Spiderman fan too, so I played it just like I'm sure I will play this when it comes out. FoF was enjoyable for what it is, but it's not exactly the kind of Spiderman game you'd get all hot and bothered over. I could see this game taking the same direction.
Hopefully I'm wrong.

Here's some better ideas:
1. Jedi Knight 3
2. X Wing vs TIE Fighter 2
3. remake of Shadows of the Empire
4. more Battlefront
Take your pick.

Kind of got to agree with the sentiments of most here.
The Star Wars Universe is getting a little too full for me.
Clone Wars seemed so unnecessary.
Adding another game about it is also kind of gratuitious.
I'd prefer they go and make a much more in depth Star Wars game that covers all the chapters of Lucas' original saga.

the TV series is actually pretty entertaining. The Lightsaber Duels game, however, was not. It seemed very repetitive, with not much depth, and we ended up trading it for another game after about 3 days. Sort of worried about the same dev making this new one. . .

I see a good number of people saying the show is pretty good. I had no idea! I suppose I'd just written it off because of the art style. I guess I'll have to check it out.

It's kind of irritating that they made the tiny alien sidekick character, which is pretty clearly not intended to be part of the canon story, to make Star Wars appealing to kids. Come to think of it, I dont remember the word "Sith" being said a single time in the original trilogy. . . maybe I'm alone in saying this but I really think Star Wars should be relinquished from George Lucas and given to a capable director... and also burn everything that even hints at the new trilogy every having been created and we all pretend like they never happened.

She does seem rather shoe-horned in, but no more than most of the Expanded Universe characters. Mara Jade anyone?
I was worried about them adding in such an obvious character to appeal to younger females in particular, but she's really not that bad. I just hope at the end of the series, they can come up with a reason for her not being in Episode III besides simply killing her off.

I pass...
A Clone Wars FPS would be interesting though... but enough adventure games... I'm sick of Jedi, I want to see the soldiers and what not...
Republic Commando 2 would be nice too, mmm you know you got 4 Republic Commando books... and they ended exactly where (but differently) the game ended...
Maybe you know, maybe we could have that?
Or maybe a real KOTOR 3 that doesn't slowly make me pay for 3 - 4 games during my playing it due to monetary issues and subscription fees. (I'll try KOTOR MMO don't get me wrong, but recently MMO's have made me sad as WoW is repetitive, EQ II is awful, and well... Warhammer just needs to die.)
Mmm maybe?
... Who knows...
YUUZHAN VONG!!
(Felt like screaming that, but a game with them would be cool too... hard to do without Jedi though.)

I hope this is based off the TV series and not the movie.
Basing it off of the series gives them freedom to write a new story for the game (like they did for Jedi Alliance on DS, which was terrible btw), whereas if based on the movie, then the stroy is pretty much set in stone already.
and that was a BAD story.
yet the TV series is good. its slightly more mature than the film, but not so much as to not appeal to the kids.
i like the art style of it, and think it could be carried to the game pretty well.
and there are endless possibilities for a story line for this.
i hope they just dont screw it up with bad gameplay. cos jedi alliance didnt have the greatest of story line, admitidly, but it was the "gameplay" that let it down, if you can call tapping up and down continuously on the enemy as gameplay.
if this turns out to be true, then i will buy it, because i am a star wars fan and buy anything star wars.
if we'r all honest, i think some of us slate off star wars just to be on the bandwagon.
hell, if you REALLY thought star wars was that bad when you went to see Ep1, why bother coming back for 2,3, and Clone Wars? and would Force Unleashed have sold so well? doubt it.
this game could be good, i dont think we should write it off just yet
