What do you get when you take the Gen13's Farichild, A Dark Elf, and Gears?

This cover. And if you have read the comics, here is a tip: DO NOT.

I used to be a big Liam Sharp fan (Death's Head), but his artwork in the GOW comics is just awful. The story, if you can call it that, is pretty flimsy in the comic too. You swear it was written by someone who uses every action movie cliche that they know.

XBox 360 - Besides, unless she is the host, she is still getting fragged by a shotgun.

I'm incredibly curious as to why she's smoking a cigar.

It seems no one understands the realism behind the stereotypes and vices they portray so often (Wine is used by highclass, not snobs).

Allow me to clarify in this particular case.

Cigar-aficionados are considered to be of a higher class than general smokers, people that smoke said cigars will of course not inhale (no one inhales a Cigar), as well as follow the traditions and time-honed honors that are related to said Cigar. In addition Cigar-smokers due to the awful stigma that smokers and their cancer-sticks have placed on them, are generally much more respectful than most other people in attempts to try to clear up the stigma to a degree.

General Cigar-smokers (small minorities exist) may or may not follow these rules (or even know about them) and may not follow said respect ties either, they might even be idiots or drunks (Cigar-aficionados will not associate with drunks generally as being drunk is considered an insult, (they drink wine, no one in their right mind gets drunk off of wine) and thus is to be avoided) and as such may even engage a Cigar in an unacceptable manner.

However the issue remains, that stereotypes almost always depict Cigars and those who partake in them, in a wrong manner that is as far away from the truth as possible, (as this stupid image, which further increases the stigma, obviously confirms) and seriously needs to be stopped.

In addition the feasibility of smoking a cigar while shooting, or engaging in combat, or with heavy gear on is also illogical and improbable due to the lung and throat weight ratios as well as the mechanism's and actions that the mouth and throat must go through (which is offset and distorted or altered when carrying large amounts of equipment, or engaged in combat (and during this time unintentional and toxic inhalation could occur) or even simply moving (moving while smoking cigars is quite difficult if it exceeds what could be considered minor movement) and is thus displayed incorrectly in this image and although you may not consider it a big deal or care, it is one of the reasons stigma's continue to exist, because of subtle and subconscious thoughts upon seeing such images.

Don't get me wrong though, soldiers (Especially a large majority of the US Army, Marines, and Navy) quite often engage in smoking Cigars, but that is when there is no combat alerts, and they are in down-time, generally in a tent or building with their CO or comrades, or well-known Cigar-clubs, and are not equipped with anything more than fatigues.

I do think the allied forces won in WWII, and they were the heaviest smokers in recent history. Not only that but a "cigar" shaped object does not always mean a tobacco ciga Mr. Snob.

Uh yes it does, Mr. Idiot.

Are you referring to people who fill cheap cigars with drugs?

Only idiots do that, and soldiers aren't going to have the time or resources in a War and environment similar to "Sera" within Gears of War to bother making such things, much less they'd most likely not bother, or care enough as they'd be focusing on surviving and killing.

Sigh...

Very few in the Allied Forces smoked "cigars" as those were reserved for Generals and high-ranking officers and while they did indeed consume much more than the once or twice every month that Aficionados today consume, they did not do so while fighting, as much as while talking to soldiers or in their outposts or command bunkers.

Indeed most smoked cigarettes, (many were even provided them by the army), as is obvious from the hundreds of WW2 videos, re-enactments, and of course documentaries.

Someone is a little testy today aren't they? A cigar can be made from many plants, even wrapped and filled strictly with a cannabis plant. Whose to say how soldiers spent their down time, some play cards, some tell stories and drink, others find different hobbies which could easily be making a cigar (which would likely take a good long while). Perhaps the cigar is sentimental to the character in some way? No need to be a snob*.

Not to mention some soldiers loot destroyed and abandoned houses/business during the time of war. A soldier out of cigarettes and finding a box of cigars would likely smoke them during a "special" occasion, such as taking down a brumak singlehandedly.

Stop using the term snob improperly.

By its exact definition about 99% of Humanity would be considered "Snobs" as they are "annoying" (to someone), "arrogant" (about something), and self important.

Also with said equipment in the cover art, it would be very difficult to smoke a cigar.

Oh, and Sera isn't Earth, obviously.

If you are insisting Princeton and I use and define the term snob impropperly then you just fall under the definition even more.

I'm only going to state this as blatantly as possible.

Using your referenced and directed definition from a reputable source (if not an awfully designed website) the entire sum of all HUMANITY would relate as at some point self-important, and arrogant, as well as "annoying" (an entirely subjective term) which would mean that EVERY HUMAN is a SNOB...

So...

Pretending to be ignorant (unless you really were that stupid) when I stated such already, just to target me further in the immature way you do things (most likely because you are immature) is a very pathetic thing to do.

In addition, Cigars have a myriad of different scents associated with each one, and thus some may smell like Cocoa, some may smell like Burnt Rubber, and many may smell like Chocolate or Coffee (seems to be a common scent for a lot of the finer ones) and thus judgement based on the COVER and not the book, is stupid, especially if the book has over 500 editions each with a varying cover.

And, it's not pathetic to everyone, or else I'd not have typed it... I just hate when people further support awfully designed and implemented stereotypes.

Humanity, is stupid.

Not the point. Just because that's is all your mind is capable of thinking of doesn't mean that you do it. Everyone knows that the girl in these kind of games is just their to make negative comments about the guys' manhood, be ogled at by them and be an anti-social bitch. So are you telling me that every woman who joins the army is like that? Or is it that meat heads who make games like Gears of War are just stereotypical bastards without a original thought in their head. I vote the latter.
