Pre-order Guitar Hero: Van Halen while you wait for Activision to announce it

Several listings at GameStop's site earlier today revealed Guitar Hero: Van Halen. The listings have since been pulled, but we managed to take a screen cap for you, which you can see past the break. It's a game that has been rumored for a little while now, and would be Activision's next logical step following Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Guitar Hero: Metallica. Each listing at GameStop's site points to an August 4 release for the title on PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. So what are you waiting for, Activision? Just announce the thing already!

Yeah. The bad news is it's queued to be released sometime after Duke Nukem Forever, so 2020 is tentative.

I wish they would release GH: David Lee Roth. "I ain't got nobody" and "Yankee Rose" fucking ruled.

Finally, a game with the best band ever. But two things might make me not buy it: Sammy, and lack of Eruption. This comment will get voted down.

I'm so sick of people complaining about these games not being DLC. So you're pissed off that you;d have to buy a separate disc... If you're mad, don't buy the game! That's all there is to it. Your bitching about how this should be DLC instead of a separate game will never change anything. The games companies don't care if some people don't buy the game because it isn't DLC. They care that they're still going to make more money if the release separate games.

Has anyone stopped to realize that each time a new version of this game is released the online community shrinks which in turn reduces the replay value of the game yet the price is always the same. It seems to take forever to find peeps online to play against. If Activision won't give us the ability to export songs like Rock Band does then I'm done with the guitar hero franchise. I think I'm gonna switch to Rock Band. No I'm definitely gonna switch. Do you hear that Activision, take your bull$#!# game and shove it up your @$$. If nobody bought the next GH version unless it had the ability to export songs I'm pretty sure it would get their attention. But then that would be assuming the rest of you are smart enough to understand that. The next version of GH better be called Guitar Hero Export, which will allow all songs from all previous versions to be exported and be playable on the next game. That's the only way I'm gonna buy it. Anyone with me.
