Red Faction: Guerrilla bumped up in North America, Europe

Our friends in Europe have also had their release bumped up a week to June 5, but everyone knows they don't have quite our hunger for building-destroying carnage that we do.

Man. June. I'm gonna be busy.
Troy Powers (PSN: TroyPowers) @ Apr 24th 2009 3:32PM
I hear the demo is awesome!
playwhutyalike @ Apr 24th 2009 3:33PM
Bring on the Ostrich jokes!
ColorblindMonk @ Apr 24th 2009 3:40PM
The demo is great, but short, the mission and the 10 minute time limit. But man, FUEL and Red Faction are a week in between eachother now. Better save some money.
BunnySlapper @ Apr 24th 2009 3:43PM
I loved the first one. There was something incredibly satisfying with using a missile launcher to dig tunnels through the level where other games just have the same cooridors over and over.
Terrain deformation = win.

Ha! I love Oprah jokes!

is that a giant 'fubar'?

I would like to compliment you on your excellent usage of Dr. Girlfriend's image.
Velsar @ Apr 24th 2009 4:03PM
I'm not too excited about this... it's just constant repetition nothing really new... the demo wasn't very impressive... a rental at the most... maybe.
Ryan Hamilton @ Apr 24th 2009 4:08PM
I was surprised how good the demo was, It had nice tight controls, Shooting felt like shooting the lancer in Gears. All I kept thinking was, can't wait for the Red Faction Multiplayer!
Game_playa @ Apr 24th 2009 4:11PM
Hopefully it comes to the PC on the same date as console versions, because this game has me excited.
Geoff Gibson @ Apr 24th 2009 4:16PM
I loved the demo. I wasn't originally planning on buying this game, Iw as just going to rent it. But from a combination of awesome demo + GameFly's shittiness over the last few months have converted me into a day 1 purchaser for this game.
Volition really used what they learned with the Saint's Row franchise and translated it into a TRUE sequel to the original Red Faction.
I'm psyched.

I'm going to need a second job to get all the games I want that release in June. Luckily my birthday is that month so hopefully that relieves my wallet a little bit.
Bubbameister33 @ Apr 24th 2009 4:46PM
That hammer was awesome no need for other weapons. What kind of sound does an ostrich make when used as a hammer?
Lennoko @ Apr 24th 2009 4:58PM
Is it just me, but when i was in the beta 6 months back, i wasnt that impressed. Did the demo improve on the repetitiveness?
ottoman673 @ Apr 25th 2009 7:48AM
I was in that same beta, and i believe it was MP only?
maybe i'm wrong..
But i remember it being bearable...
when it worked.
This demo is leaps and bounds above that. Day 1 rental/purchase for sure, depends on how my wallet's doing
Inect @ Apr 24th 2009 4:58PM
I love the fact that i can take out an entire building in 30 seconds with a hammer.
HalfAznGuy @ Apr 24th 2009 5:46PM
The demo was pretty impressive. I loved the first one on PC. I'll probably get this...but it'll be a couple months after release so I can get it for ~$40 used.
Flankenstein @ Apr 24th 2009 5:46PM
demo was fun, but a little wonky. Though maybe this game will be a stupid-but-plesantly-fun surprise (see Saints Row 2).

To all who thinks the game feels odd or uninspired, give it more of a chance! I played the demo and wasn't too impressed, but for some reason I kept playing, maybe just to finish it. After a few deaths and figuring out the game style and map and mission structure, it just clicked, and it instantly became really fun! There's something different about this game than most shooters. It's almost open-world in enclosed areas, or something. The stretch where you were on the back of the truck firing that cannon thing was a lot of fun too. Beat RE5's on-rails (read:jeep) section IMO.
I won't be getting it day 1, but I'll definitely get it at some point. I remember the Gamecube game being pretty bad... but I've seen a bit of the first game back when it came out... I'll probably eBay it in the meantime :P
Weezer @ Apr 24th 2009 7:35PM
I just love games with awesome physics and destructibility.
Clinton @ Apr 24th 2009 9:20PM
the beta of this game was really fun and that was almost a year ago. playing it online was fun but haven't tried the demo yet
Capgun @ Apr 25th 2009 12:26AM
I wasnt at all interested with this at first, but the demo was really fun, if short. First time in a while I wasnt angry when I died, I was just like, oh well, time to go wreak some more havoc.
Meridimus @ Apr 26th 2009 5:53AM
The demo was amazing fun, I loved the original game and it truly builds on the greatness of that game. I cannot wait to wear the earthquake backpack and rumble the buildings down in multiplayer, I think I'll get it on 360.
I am definitely gettin this game day 1 because i have never played a demo as much as this in my life apart from destruction derby 2 on the ps1.
