Actually, he said liberal by itself but did add retarded to the front of it. If you ask me, those terms are synonymous.

@cheese:

No, this is what is retarded, people who don't understand the definition of scientific theory making decisions about how science is taught (or not, as the case may be): http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/6334924.html

I was born and raised in Texas, and I'm glad to see that the legislature is doing something to stimulate the entertainment industry, which has been waning in some parts (e.g., Dallas) in recent years. However, don't be surprised if the focus on tv and film opportunities, not gaming, especially the film lobbies have probably pushed the hardest for this legislation.

I just got a question for you. Where would you get your fuel? The Gulf Coast region on Texas provides over 1/3 of the nation's oil and gas supply. So if Texas did leave then what? Ok so that's two question..., but anyways just saying. Plus we got experience being our own nation. It won't happen. Don't want it to happen. Well have fun flamming each other (and probably me).

"So if Texas did leave then what?"

We....take it back? What the hell are they going to do, fight the whole of our military? We could take down texas in less than a day with minimal bloodshed if it came to that.

@Laugingtarget
What the hell are you talking about LaughingTarget the reason California's unemployment is high isn't because of its abusive economic regulations(thopugh that does have some fault but not as much as you make it to be) its because we have a wide variety of industries UNLIKE TEXAS. In case that you might have forgotten California has Silicon valley (companies like google, intel, amd etc...), a great agriculture business, great wine vineyards in its economy, hollywood (and basically the entire entertainment industry of the United States) and used to have a highest housing market in the country (unlike Texas which is one of the reasons why Texas economy is still good because of very low cost homes unlike California).
Texas economy is about three thing mostly wood, oil and propane WOW such an awesome economic industry. The reason its growing faster is because it hasn't taken a large hit housing wise because it has an under value housing market and you know it also the oil and propane industry aren't gonna hurt anytime soon either. The laws don't have that much of an effect because aas I recall prior to 2003 California's (before the major housing loan hand out by the banks) California had the highest GDP in the country. Because of a strong work force and many bussinesses like the companies in Silicon Valley and well the entire entertainment industry (not all of it but most of it) and the high housing market. So its pretty easy to know why the unemployment is so high compared to Texas since Texas doesn't have that many risky industries and a housing market that is worth shit right now. So yeah I think that may contribute to many of the economic lows of California. High risk investment *housing market it had to tank soon it always does) and shitty loans had to do with this and you know it. SO don't bring this shit of California was a good state 30 years ago when you know it was a great state 6 years ago before the bad bank loans. California's economy was extremely invested in that and when that gave we tanked. So that whole shit of laws and regulations being purely at fault and that Texas had good ones is complete BS. Texas just lucked out of the housing debts unlike California since everyone wanted to live here 6 years ago.

Hey, maybe you shouldn't be speaking for the entire state. You're not doing it any favors.

Didn't a civil war happen last time that was tried? "Among other factors of course."

@LaughingTarget

Exactly. If MA would stop trying to raise taxes or creating new taxes, I wouldn't be making plans to move to FL.

Folks, got this new ointment. It says "apply liberally." So basically what I did was avoid the problem areas and call everyone a racist.

"If it wasn't for chumps along the two coasts trying to tell the middle how to live their lives"

Sorry, but this is total BS. The coasts rake in most of the tax dollars and the middle states get the largest payouts from those tax dollars. They can shut up or they can pay for their own infrastructure like roads and bridges and schools and emergency relief when the Mississippi floods or that tornado rolls through.

As a Texan I can proudly say that this is one reason I like Rick Perry. Sadly I have over 100 reasons to hate him.
