Gary Dale takes CEO role at Realtime Worlds
Realtime Worlds put out an APB (get it, like the game it's making?) for a new CEO and now Gary Dale has answered the call. If Dale's name is familiar to you, it's likely thanks to his previous job: Chief operating officer of Take-Two, though he also served as the European managing director of Capcom. We'd like to humbly suggest that Dale's first official act should be putting higher-res pictures of himself on the internet for bloggers to put funny captions on when they write about him. Ask Mike Gallagher, it's totally worth it.

His first act should be to actually make APB a real game. Oh, and how about a PS3 version?

It is a real game... granted it's been in development for 32000 years now but it does exist.
I've seen a one-year old demo of the character editor. It looks badass, the facial customisation is insane.

Actually that is a hi-res photo. He's just fuzzy in real life.

His previous job where he quit/got fired after the SEC found out about the backdating shenanigans?
None of the press releases mention this!

I wouldn't post that picture up in a high resolution either... Look at his expression.
It's a mixture of looking constipated and being up for 28 hour straight and then having to take your picture taken.

*having to get your picture taken
Sorry, stuck at work and it's been a fucking drag...

Good. Now I will you to make Crackdown 2 a reality.
UK31337 @ Apr 27th 2009 5:10PM
I think it is...
I went to a game development careers fair in Dundee (where RW are based, it was literally across the road from their office) and their studio manager said they had an unannounced project on the go that he couldn't talk about. Then they opened up to the floor for questions. Someone asked: have you ever thought about or would you like to do Crackdown 2?
His body language said it all. He was like "Oh, well, umm, haha, well, err...." as opposed to dodging it cleanly and then basically spewed about how they might like to come back to it etc.. Of course maybe he just didn't have an answer prepared for that question or he was caught on the hop by somebody who accidentally or deliberately twigged what the unannounced project was.
You had to have been there, he genuinely looked like a rabbit in headlights and I was sitting in the front row. Thing is, somebody asked the same question the previous year and the guy then (a different RW staff member) had a totally different answer.
Intriguing stuff.

The APB joke was funny. But when you have to spell out the punchline, it sucks.
Vcize @ Apr 27th 2009 8:52PM
That was part of the joke.
