You can pick up the PC versions for a couple of quid/dollars on amazon, and they'll both run on pretty much anything.

VERY RECOMMENDED.

*actually, they're £10 each on amazon, but UK steam users can grab the bundle of both of them for £8.99

Only problem is that the game doesn't properly support widescreen, so most people will probably have to do some tweaking to force "fixed ratio" on their PCs if they have widescreen monitors (which creates black bars on the sides).

ATI catalyst has that built in, and I think Nvidia users can download some free stuff that makes it easy.

Got both for around 7 dollars when the movie came out. YAY STEAM.

If you never played max payne though, 15 dollars might be too high for what is a very old (to me) concept.

The first one is definitely better except for those dream sequences. Damn those sucked.

Completely disagree, except that the first game had awful dream sequences.

Fall of Max Payne took the gameplay innovations, story, and style to the next level -- hell, it even made the dream sequences fun.

For anyone who hasn't played either, the sequel should be a far more meaningful, current experience. The first will only be remembered as pioneering bullet-time in gameplay.

Yeah, you can probably get them used for about that. I remember getting #2 a few years ago for $4.99 used.

I still can't believe that XBL is selling Originals for $15 each instead of on a sliding scale. They'd sell so many more games if they didn't charge so dang much.

Or, they could just add achievements. Then the price tags might seem a little more reasonable.

Don't forget that you're buying the games for a lifetime. I'm not still not sure if that's still worth it, but to some it might be.

Loved the 1st one (it was so innovative when it came out!), never played the 2nd. Still, $15 is FAR too much.

$15 each is WAY too steep especially since you can still pick up Max Payne 2 in Gamestop used for $2.99!

The last Steam deal with Max Payne was the Rockstar packs. You could get both games for only 10$. Should expect the same kind of deal when the third one hits or at least when Steam is taking preorders.

Why $15 each? Did they enhance the graphics and add achievements or something

I may be the only person who liked the dream sequences.

$15 is robbery, but that's the price I pay for not having a PC anymore I guess. Max Payne and Deus Ex were the last games I played on PC. Great games to go out on.

The first game's dream sequences can be broken up into two components: Style/theme and gameplay. Most people like the style and hate the gameplay.

There's little fun to be found running around a maze with tunnel vision chasing a crying baby noise while jumping on floating blood trails in an abyss.

For someone to enjoy such a sequence, the gameplay was probably either ignored or seen as "not detracting enough" to impact the enjoyment of the style of that sequence.

What made you think that? They continue to pump out crappy Xbox Original titles all the time.

The notion of XBOX Originals would be better if they had a wider selection. And there is no bearing on when the next one will be released. There was like...what...400 games on the original XBOX and they're putting out 2 titles every 2-3 months?

And some of those games are abhorrently bad. Seriously, Halo 1 is there...where's Halo 2? Or Knights of the Old Republic for another Bioware game? Or Morrowind, Forza, Mercenaries, Star Wars Battlefront I and II, Prince of Persia or any other major million+ seller? And for the love of all things beautiful where is Beyond Good and Evil for even any backwards compatibility?

Granted, Max Payne is the first title in a LONG time that I've seen that makes sense (price aside). But these releases are taking for-ever.

Hopefully amazon will start selling this and put them on sale. Almost everyone of the games they have on there I got for half the price used on my original xbox. I spent less than 2.50 for both max paynes at gamestop and that was before edge discount and 25% off coupon.

sorry to go off topic here, although just recently i both max
paynes again for the xbox for 2 dollars and 3 dollars
respectively(had it on ps2 and loved it), but what are the odds of
them ever releasing halo 2, and would it be entirely playable online?

Its strange. On the one hand, these are priced way too higly. But if you look at it from the closed perspective of Xbox LIVE, the pricing is a steal. XBLA game offer half or less of what these originals do for the same price is crazy.

On the third deformed hand, this suggests that everything on xbox LIVE is overpriced or just falsely valued.

Where's that "A Film Noir Love Story" tagline? That's, like, the best part of the MP2 cover.
