If you're offended by this, you need to stop also being offended by:

People eating meat
Normal usage of swearing
Nudity
Sex
Normal use of violence

Other normal things that people assign offense to for no good reason.

That being said, I appreciate the position the blog is in in an attempt to cover the story.

None of those things you mentioned have anything to do with this advertisement being offensive.

What is offensive as that myself and many, many, many others are being compared to Hitler. Yay, that's fun.

I eat with carnivores all the time, I curse like a sailor on rare occasions, I'm a part time nudist who enjoys participating in sexual activities, and I generally enjoy playing violent video games, practicing martial arts, and listening to anarchistic punk rock... But for some strange reason, I really hate being compared to Hitler. It would have been a great ad if it were just the butcher diagram.

I was very much looking forward to this game too, I don't know what the hell McMillen was thinking posting this ad.

But it's a joke. And you know that, because you have a brain in your head. If you can't see that this is tongue-in-cheek, then you'd have to be kind of an idiot.

To put it simply, you're only jokingly being compared to Hitler. The joke here is that it's an obviously stupid comparison. Whether or not you think the joke is funny is another issue altogether, but to find it "offensive" means that you might need to develop a thicker skin. Or, more likely, you're not actually offended. But, like a lot of folks, you like the idea of getting onto a high horse about something, and this is what you're picking today.

Hitler was a character in Dragonball Z, at least that's what a columnist said in the Guardian newspaper. My mind was blown.

I'd love to see this ad plastered up on billboards over here.

All tell you what ruined this add. The red text over the black background, what were they thinking, I can barely see it, much less figure out what it's supposed to say.

And yeah, These guys probably pass the time chucking rocks at hornet nests, but I'd say the even stupider people will be those who actively take it seriously.

It's an absurdist extension of the "Hitler Was a Vegetarian" lore. I laughed, but then again, I'm not a vegetarian and don't really take my diet (nor myself) all that seriously.

What is offensive about that ad? Being compared to Hitler? So what! Fox "news" and the neocons have used that comparison against anyone they didn't like so many times within the last 10 years that it has become completely unoffensive. I just roll my eyes every time I hear it being used now.

There are enough negative attitudes towards vegetarians without having to draw nazi comparisons. Who have the vegetarians ever hurt? No one; that's kind of the idea behind it.

Lol I played the flash game Meat Boy.

The outline in the cow looks alot like the main character in the game. I hope they're the same game.

As far as Hitler goes, the ad doesn't offend me. I love meat and I dislike Hitler. Win win.

So it's just like those equally "offensive" PETA ads comparing consumption of animals to the Holocaust, right? An eye for an eye, perhaps. Regardless, it's just another excuse for those zany PETA folks to get naked in public again while everyone else points and laughs.

Just a little reminder: Peta =/= vegetarians. Many vegetarians don't agree with Peta's tactics or many of their stances. I guess I just don't like being compared to Hitler because of Peta's action. Keep that in mind.

I was looking forward to this game but this (excuse the pun) leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Hitler was not vegetarian. He had a vegetarian diet prescibed by his doctor, for health reasons, for a period of time.

This ad DOES offend who's vegetarian for religious or ethical reasons. True vegetarians have nothing in common with Hitler. True vegetarians are so because they respect EVERY form of life. Hitler... c'mon, everyone knows.

BTW Leonardo Da Vinci was a vegetarian. Albert Einstein was a vegetarian. Don't you wish, mr. McMillen, to be even just 1% as smart as they were?

I'm a vegetarian, and I'm not offended at all. The whole text is boring and unoriginal. It feels like an eight-year-old's dull retort to another eight-year-old.

Some science literacy and little time on the farm (or an entire life, as my case may be) should be make anyone a vegetarian. I'm often surprised that people eat meat, it's a totally senseless act. But can I stop people? I'm realistic about that point. People have to learn for themselves.

Anyway, what was I saying? Yeah. The ad is merely dumb.
