Lube up your arm, because ... eww, that didn't sound great, did it? Well then, open your claw and swing from a pipe, because ... yikes, that's not much better. OK, listen, the Bionic Commando demo is coming out tomorrow on Xbox Live, and we can't think of a cute way to lead into that information that doesn't sound dirty. Sorry, it's early.
Just as a reminder, if this multiplayer demo is eventually coming to PSN, it hasn't been announced. We'll let you know if we hear anything.

It's a multiplayer only demo. What is a silver member going to do with a multiplayer only demo?

I am a hippie , gainfully employed by the ministry of education though. I did not realize that the demo is multi-player, my bad on that one. Personally, I dislike online multi-player, too many douche bags and 12 year olds.

"something that should be free"
???
I don't draw that same conclusion about goods and services.
Like speech and religion, that should be free.
A server that provides digital content and matchmaking? If someone can profit off of it, they should charge for it. Capitalism works better that way.

Im with Chris D on this. Multiplayer should be free, def if its a peer to peer network the multiplayer is working off of.
I've had xbox live since just a little before halo 2 came out. But even though I'm in the Underground gamerzone I still got suspended twice and the third time it will be permanent. They need to reset that after a certain ammount of time cause of course people are gonna get suspended if they have been playing on live for a long time, thats what happens when a bunch of noobs get mad at you for owning them, they report you for something.
So instead of paying 35 dollars a year to microsoft I will quit paying for peer to peer multiplayer and switch over to the PSN. From the games ive played online with my PS3, there is only slight difference. One being no cross game private chat and the other being that its free for the same exact thing! OOH yea, with that 35 dollars I save, I get DLC for the games I want. WOO hOOOO

about the bionic commando demo as far as i know capcom has already said that the bionic commando demo will be a xb360 exclusive and the marvel vs capcom demo is a ps3 exclusive

The only reason the Marvel vs Capcom demo is exclusive is because Microsoft doesn't support XBLA pre-release demos. You get a trial of it (ie. demo) on the same day it releases.
I imagine this demo is 360 exclusive because of development time to do two MP demos, AND the fact Sony charges publishers to put content on it's Playstation Store.

I think this game is going to be up there with LOST PLANET. That also means it will bring the good with the bad as they refused to fix the physics of items and enemies. I don't want people or things to bounce like hot air balloons when I throw them for example. It takes me out of the already suspended disbelief. Plus what they hell does this game need a multiplayer mode for? Give us more levels, bonuses or even better graphics and enemy AI. This is not a multiplayer game for crying out. I LOVE BC but this is just too much.

How exactly is this not a multiplayer game? It remains to be seen how well the game will be set up and how strong the net-code will be, but from what has been shown in videos, the multiplayer looks really fun.
Large maps plus Freedom of movement to accommodate sounds like it will tide many of us over until Lost Planet 2 or Uncharted 2 ships. I've been looking for a fun blend of raw firepower and elegant strategy since LP died down, if this offers any of that, I can't wait to try it out.

I just don't see any reason for it. Lost Planet's MP sucked too. Oh and that reminds me, not all games need or deserve a MP option. Sorry, just how I feel.
In those bad instances like Kane & Lynch, Lost Planet or Splinter Cell, we get weak arcade grade MP game modes out of single player games. This appears to be another. I'll give a run through and make an experienced review but as an opinion, this is sort of lame.
I will give Uncharted a run as I LOVE that game and it s has competent people, for the most part, working on it.

No need to be sorry. Your opinion is valid and many agree that tacked on MP is rarely worthwhile. Still, the devs will continue to fight the used game market until they are included in the profits. Replayibility is the main issue. Gamers need a better incentive to keep their games.

Multiplayer was one of the MAIN focuses of the studio. Read their interviews, this wasn't an afterthought you're most likely going to get a full blown multiplayer experience, if they didn't care about the multiplayer WHY would they release a multiplayer only demo?

I agree with your take NoughtSoClever as you seem to understand mine.
To ice~, Now as for why bring out a demo for MP.? I think it's to see fan (gamer) reaction for one. Until I play it I can't state a factually based opinion, but I feel from gameplay footage that this is a tacked on. Didn't Kane & Lynch's developers state a MP option from day one too only to blow because it was and played like an after though while an online co-op option that was obvious was left out? I'm not saying comparing games or anything really is always fair, but I fear it might just be in this case unless I am proven wrong.

Paying to play games online is the anomaly here. Before Live, the only people that paid to play the games they already purchased were MMORPG players. Every other platform is free. No one is arguing that $50 a year isn't a nominal fee because everyone agrees that it is. The point is that Wii, PS3, and PC all offer perfectly stable online play for free (with the exception of launch time instability which even Live has suffered from in the past), so the real argument that should be made is why should you have to pay for Live.

You are CRAZY. Splinter Cell's multiplayer was one of the greatest MP modes of the last generation. So innovative and unique, with coop to boot.

I disagree as the Splinter Cell single player aspect was more of a complete game while MP felt like some half assed project.

You downloaded Bionic Commando: Rearmed which is a graphical redo of the original Bionic Commando which rocks. The 3D one comes out soon.
