That's the style that third party devs should use with Wii games... more and more games are coming with this style, and it works better than try to achieve realistic graphics.

The game certainky looks way better than the first screens:

Here are some new screens:

And some gameplay videos:

Gameplay looks very similar to Ratchet and Clank... if I recall correctly, the studio (Bionic Games) are former Insomniac devs, right? I read the other that they were the first one in working in the early Ratchet games.

The game doesn't really feel like Ratchet and Clank, but damned if that robot doesn't look like Clank on steroids....

I have to agree with you on this one. I've really started to get behind this art style lately on the Wii. More games DO seem to be coming out along these kind of lines. I think it looks great. One reason I can't wait for Ghostbusters to come out....well, the art direction, and the fact that I want that Proton Pack feeling in the palm of my hand. :-)

This year is turning out to be awesome for the Wii! Spyborgs looks WAY better than the original concept. Reminds me of a more playful Project H.A.M..M.E.R.

Hopefully Insomniac doesn't mind them totally stealing Ratchet's head for the head of the robot in this game. Maybe he's Ratchet's long lost cousin?

Pretty generic name but it does look a helluva lot better. And the Ratchet and Clank style is very welcome.

So I guess I'm the only who's a bit disappointed by this new trailer. I liked the humor and saturday morning cartoon feel of the original trailer and this kinda seems like a generic (yeah I gotta stop using that word) third-person action game.

While I never really cared for the mini-games, here's hoping the light-hearted humor remains with the finish product.

I personally found the old look much more charming and unique. When I watched the new trailer I couldn't even make the mental connection between this and what was formally shown, because it is so devoid of personality.

Really I can no longer see a single thing that distinguishes this game from everything else on the market. What was so bad with the original style? "Cutesy" is a huge exaggeration - in reality it reminded me of comic books, particularly Invincible and Atomic Robo are coming to mind.

" What was so bad with the original style? "

I guess Capcom figured that people wouldn't buy a game that looked cartoony so they opted for a more "mature" look.

I absolutely agree with your post though, the first trailer had a lot of personality.

I like the scale they have going, and it definitely looks better, but it does leak somewhat into the realm of generic.

This game reminds me of an old '94 SNES/Arcade game called Ninja Warriors. Coincidentally there are three robot characters too.

A male robot (balanced), female robot (speed), and a monkey robot (power). It was a really fun beat 'em up.

The game had a surprising amount of depth too.

That was back in the days when I was only allowed two games a year (birthday and Christmas). That is why I have fond memories of it.
